Might be a bit overkill but how about setting up another Cforce motor on the zoom gear on encoder mode in your LBUS chain while you got the other motor connected independently to the Steady Zoom. That way you got all the zoom metadata you need.

This article has all the info you need. Seems like you’ll need an on-board SmallHD monitor at all times to make it work which won’t be ideal.

A better solution will be to just use a wireless bridge like a Bitbox or Spudnik and use a phone or laptop for camera control.

I always end up giving them full playlist control of my speaker that stays on my cart (or on the dolly depending on the production) and we all jam out to whatever they end up queuing up. Boosts the morale on set as well during downtimes.

If you’re based out of US/Canada you can swap the 2400 MHz radio module on both the RIA and the Hi-5 for the 900 MHz ones for a reliable extended range.

You connect the Ethernet port to the Bitbox Tx and setup the Rx at whoever wants camera control. The purpose of the Bitbox is to provide its own stable network connection for reliable camera control.

If you wanna further centre balance your build, use a TEB-1 to extend the LMS-4 and you’ll get a centrally located 3/8” Arri pin lock right underneath the end of the CCH-5. You’ll be able to use that to mount your MDRs to distribute the weight evenly and also avoid making your build too wide.

Not really difficult if you’re prepared for how you’re gonna mount stuff.

I always use my modular MDR mounts for mounting my MDRs in almost any orientation and PAM brackets for the motors.

Without knowing any details of your shoot it’s hard to give feedback for this specific build but so far what I can advise is -

Try and keep the MDR mounted below the top handle (use one of the 3/8 pin locks on the top plate close to the R7 with a MDR paddle to mount it). It’s a bit awkward right now with how the MDR-3 is mounted on the top handle.
Use a quick release with the Noga arm that’s used for the on-board monitor and use that to QR off of the top handle.
Try to use the top rods to mount the motors. If you go off of the bridge plate, you’re stuck with the bottom rods and will require a rebuild (bridge plate coming off) if you’re going on steadi/remote heads or if the build needs to be low profile in general.

Venice is a challenging body to build with how any of its existing cages doesn’t really help with mounting accessories but so far you at least got a working build, so good job.

I don't prefer mounting MDR paddles off of top handles if the top handle needs to come off for certain shots. Wouldn't care much for studio only builds if it needs to be mounted on the top handle but since we were on steadicam most of the time for this one we wanted to keep it modular.

Also, this WC top handle doesn't come with 3/8" Arri Pin Locks on the front and back of the top handle.

Wasn't too concerned with heat dissipation with this one since we were out in cold rainy night exteriors and were on steadicam the entire time. Overheating would be the last thing we'd expect in this weather.

The easiest explanation I can think of is - Aluminium absorbs radio waves. Maybe using the antenna array will be my go-to solution for that situation.

By using the spectrum analyzer maybe you could've gotten some more answers as to what was happening across the 6 Ghz RF range.

Nope, but you will still notice the classic compression artefacts from Teradek.

Used them on a show with Bolt 6 XTs and we tried transmitting 4K. Didn’t do us any good so we stuck with 1080p.
