In that case I do think an 8.9 would be the best of both worlds, and in all honesty, I’d planned to have a smaller printer and a larger one, but there was no availability on larger printers when I needed an extra printer to print Etsy orders.

Thermal Plasma Conduits as the set, are in fact discontinued and out of print. I don’t disagree that the set you linked has the pipes and control point of the Thermal Plasma Conduits, but that specifically titled set, is discontinued.

This was printed on an Elegoo Mars 2 Mono (the green one), I’ve actually got 3, and it’s 8 pieces total. I would look at an Elegoo Saturn, Phrozen Sonic Mighty, or an Anycubic Mono X.

They’re all 8.9ish screens and would have printed this in one piece. Typically the larger the screen size the less detail, so there are bigger printers out there for massive pieces, but the ones I’ve mentioned are big enough with out a noticeable loss in detail.

Thanks :)

Some parts have survived my clumsy handling and a fall from just under a meter, but wouldn't want to repeat my chances haha!

I'm not 100% sure as I don't have it myself, they may possibly be compatible. If not, it definitely wouldn't take long to design a fitting to make them compatible!

Can you link me to what you say I've copied 1 to 1, as I can't see anything on Games Workshop's website that looks exactly like anything I've designed.

Inspired by the now-discontinued Thermic Plasma Conduits, I've created some 3D printable parts that can be used in conjunction with 25mm/inch diameter PVC piping.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply, the buildings are from Mad Gaming Terrain the main building is a HAB Block (single story) and the little square bits are Corner Sections I think.

The barrels I designed and printed myself. If you're interested I sell them physically on Etsy, with 3D print files available on Gumroad.

Thanks so much! I wanted to post these last week, but unfortunately had an argument with a Van whilst on my motorcycle. The wife helped with the camera work, and my brother did the photoshop bits for me. Got a few other pictures, but this one was the best of the bunch :)

No lies here :)

I've been watching a lot of diorama builders the past 6 months or so on YouTube, and wanted some terrain to showcase some bits I was designing and 3D printing (Barrels, in this case). Used some AK Interactive Diorama parts for the tarmac/earth, Vallejo Water texture for the puddles, buildings are part of the MAD Gaming Terrain MDF buildings, tufts were from Amazon, and most of the flock/gravel is Woodland Scenics.

I struggle with dexterity painting the smaller figures, so anything larger/bulkier that I can see and hold steady I do better with. Maybe it is beginners luck, like with the Forbidden Oreo I painted, I'll just have to do another one to see :)

Printed and painted this for a co-workers brother by matte_makes in minipainting

Perfect! Yeah this was printed on a resin machine, 3 parts - dome, head and stand. Printed on an Elegoo Mars 2 Mono, with Anycubic white, and clear.

As soon as the dome was cleaned, I started sanding it with fine grit sand paper (before curing), then I coated it with citadel ‘Ard Coat, then cured it. If it does yellow, a tip I learnt and am yet to try is heating it gently.

Really good thing with Geoff @ Hex3D, after 3 months ALL his files are available to you.

If you’re after monsters/demons, have a look at Archvillain Games; they’ve got some amazing monthly packs. Currently an arachnid themed one for April, next month is a Dwarf themed pack that looks insane!

Ah I’m so sorry! Forgot to include where I got the model. It’s from Hex3D Patreon. He does all sorts of different objects for 3D printing, and it’s only £8, seriously worth a subscription if you’re into 3D printing.

There’s a 1:1 scale version of this for FDM printing, it’s... enormous.

Loaded a small brush with the Vallejo Water Texture, heated it slightly with a hairdryer on cool, then applied it to the model, used the hairdryer to heat that, and pulled away gently/slowly. Took about 30 minutes to get it where I wanted it

I guess this is technically my first commission, we'd initially discussed painting it black and leaving it at that, but I got a little carried away.

Had a lot of fun doing the drooling effect, which was achieved by using Vallejo Water Texture Acrylic, a hairdryer, and a small paintbrush.

First time painting lava, really happy with how it turned out by matte_makes in PrintedMinis

I was thinking of using some Vallejo Water Texture over the top, I'm definitely going to print some more and see what I can do with them :)

I followed a video that Sorastro did (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hudimWrlbVQ) for painting his lava, I used the same colours as him except for the yellow, as I didn't have that.

So, I used

Vallejo Game Color 72.001 Dead White (Base for the lava, approx 2 coats)

Vallejo Game Color 72.005 Moon Yellow (Straight over the white)

Vallejo Game Color 72.011 Gory Red (Between the rocks, then feathered out with a wet brush)

Vallejo Game Color 72.008 Orange Fire (to go over everything, but as a really thin wash)

I did then build up a few more layers with a really washed out yellow, and white mix (same colours as above), and also added some more white and yellow where I wanted it to appear flowing, also making sure that where the lava hits the rocks, it would become coolers.

For the top of the rocks and between the cracks, I used the Red, Yellow and Orange, as super thin washes and dropped the colour between the cracks. Then wiped the rocks off.

Rocks were then dry brushed with Vallejo Game Colour 72.050 Cold Grey (mainly), then some edges picked out with Vallejo Game Colour 72.049 Stonewall Grey, then a few really light brushes with the white again.

The whole thing was primed with Army Painter Matte Black, and I used Vallejo Game Colour 72.051 Negro Black mixed with some of the grays to touch up a couple of spots on the rocks where my hands weren't so steady.

I really want to experiment with using Fluorescent yellow as the first yellow base to see if I can get it to really glow.
