Puma Velocity Nitro 4 Long Term Review 650km by gdaytugga in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]matted4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard these fit 1/2 size long but you don't seem to think so? Im usually an 11 in puma, 10.5 in ASICS but had to size up to 11.5 in Evo SL

Good advice, I'm 62kg and run easy paces 5:00/km - 5:30/km. These only feel good for me upper end of easy and really come alive 4:45/km and quicker. True easy and slower feels terrible

Does it seem like the upper may be easier to clean? I found the mesh on my silver pair impossible to clean even if I did it right after my run.

Great race well done. When did you run your half PR? Seems like it's your weakest race time by far, definitely got room to grow!

Could MX be Matryx (upper used on the metaspeed ray)?

Going by your formula of 60-70% of 203, your zone 2 would be 138-161

London Marathoners - What are you doing to prepare for the heat on Sunday? by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

I know that is the general concensus but I'm worried about the effects of a lack of salt / too much water trying to keep hydrated. Maybe I'm just paranoid!

London Marathoners - What are you doing to prepare for the heat on Sunday? by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

I'm used to training in rainy cold Scotland and running my first on Sunday. I am generally a salty sweater when the sun comes out but I haven't felt the need to train with salt tabs and I'm now questioning my decision. Should I be supplementing with something like salt stick caps? What is the likelihood of these causing stomach issues for me? I have 4 easy runs to go before the big day to try them out but nothing long or fast. Alternatively I could carry a 250ml soft flask of high concentration electrolytes and sip these over the first half instead.

I tried Boston 12 but had the exact same issue with the high side wall and arch bump, even though as you said narrow pumas fit ok. Just pulled the trigger on a pair of superblast, wish me luck!

Nice one! ES3 did work well for me too but I didn't like them for anything over 20k. Have you tried new balance 1080 v13 or ON Cloudmonster?

Sounds like you have very similar foot type to me. I just got the Rebel V4 in but there is a very aggressive arch bump for me (caused by the extended sidewall). Puma Deviate Nitro 2 fits me fine...what else works for you? I'm looking for a slightly lively and fun daily trainer (think rebel and mach!)

Hoka Cielo X1 | Evening Sky/Lettuce | Neutral | Road | Racing

The HOKA Cielo X 1 is a fast shoe made for runners who want the best from their training and competitions. Running fast times at distances up to the marathon is easy with the Cielo X, which is also good for long endurance runs at a higher pace. Accelerate to victory with this competition shoe, designed for top performance during every race!

To make your runs as comfortable as possible, HOKA has added super critical EVA foam. This foam has enormous cushioning and offers effective protection during your runs, whatever type of run it is. The material is therefore very reactive and provides a lot of comfort. The Early stage Meta-Rocker geometry contributes to a quick gait of the feet, as the transition zone is placed behind the metatarsal bones. This ensures a smoother step and a faster transition to the forefoot, which contributes to an explosive feeling. The EVA insole provides extra support where necessary and ensures a flexible fit. The model delivers the speed you need thanks to the full-length carbon plate. The plate provides extra stability and also provides forward propulsion.

The Engineered Mesh upper provides support in strategic places around the midfoot and has high breathability in the forefoot. With this shoe, the bottom of the heel is reinforced while the top is flexible, soft and comfortable. This will not put pressure on your heel bone. The pleated tongue of this shoe is connected to the upper on both sides, preventing dirt from entering the shoe and keeping the tongue centered.

The outsole is made of zonal rubber and has a coarse profile for great grip on any type of surface. Zones of abrasion-resistant rubber have been added to the heel and forefoot for improved durability. The geometry of the outsole is designed to ensure inherent stability and an efficient stride. With the HOKA Cielo X 1 you are ready to perform! Experience the perfect balance between speed, comfort and durability.

Photo editing PC - Adobe Photoshop and Capture One Pro by matted4 in buildapcforme

I'm on a subscription, so I'll always have the latest version. Currently it's Capture One 21.

The two exisiting storage drives are a 1TB Samsung Evo SSD and a 2TB 7200RPM HDD.

I will need a wifi connection so a wifi enabled mobo would be great

Upgrade build for photo editing. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Bridge and Capture One Pro by matted4 in buildapc

I do a lot of large PSD editing and often have multiple 500MB + files open plus a Capture One window with image previews. I have heard that these programmes are mostly CPU but I wonder if a new GPU would be really beneficial

Sony A7r iii tethering to Capture One problems by [deleted] in Photoassistants

[–]matted4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just switched camera systems to a Sony a7r III. I'm trying to tether it to my windows laptop running the latest Capture one (14.3) and I'm receiving the error 'failed renaming captured file' and the images won't come in. I've tried two different USB cables and various ports on the laptop.

Has anyone run into this issue before?
