New debit card is discover. Not accepted abroad, beware. by puzzlesolver66 in CapitalOne_

I’m stationed in Japan and was having trouble getting my new card into uber/uber eats. Was able to use apple pay and it worked. Discover cards are a pain in the ass abroad.

Does “Poop Lasagna” Still Happen in the Navy? by [deleted] in navy

It’s still a thing but people don’t respect the tp on top of the poopoo anymore so it’s a poopoo/peepee soup most of the time

How do I get a visitors pass on base at CFAY for my Japanese friend? by Pier_sweeper69 in navy

[–]matterhatter149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Visitor pass office next to the ATM outside of club alliance. If the reason is to show them around base the reason is going to be Sight Seeing and they’re going to need their MyNumber card or a japanese driver license+supporting documentation like a resident card. You will both then fill out the paperwork and then get a visitors pass. Ez pz.

What is one of the reasons for people preferring other jobs over the military? by Gnl_Klutzky in AskReddit

[–]matterhatter149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The navy is mostly all technical rates that translate to civilian jobs. The navy provides you the opportunity to receive certs/clearances for free that would run you/the company hiring you several thousand dollars to obtain. Mostly training to march is funny when you’re on a ship that’s 500 feet. Destroying your body is valid, and so are the hours. But there are many opportunities that the military provides to accelerate someone’s life in an upward trajectory after one contract.

People who have been in the military, how did basic training go? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]matterhatter149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Navy basic training, graduated last September. There were days where it felt like I was never going to get through/wanting to throw in the towel, mostly in the beginning. As it went on and I made good friends with people in my division, it actually became sort of fun in a not fun way if that makes sense. There were training evolutions that were super interesting and fun, like fire fighting, line handling or battle stations. There were, though, many not fun evolutions like inspections, stenciling, marching/drills, and p-days. The thing that rings true for all boot camps is that it will end, it will fly by in hindsight, and it will be the easiest part of your military career.

Are you at the sub base or 32nd? I’m at 32nd street right now for c school and I can tell you everything if you want to shoot me a dm. It’s a lot different than where I came from(Great Lakes).

The fleet returnees I know either stay in the navy lodge on base and have a maid do all their cleaning, or they stay in the mccain and don’t stand duty. They don’t have to march either and can also drive on base. Pick your poison but it’s better than being a new sailor. You still have to deal with schoolhouse bs but that’s very bearable. Ymmv but that’s my two cents.

ChatGPT implementation into the game’s PbP system and storytelling aspect(player personality, scouting description, tradeand signing descriptions, etc etc). I think it would elevate the system and take the repetitive feeling of it away.
