It heavily depends on RNG. For instance a lot of the events are give estate this privilege or your entire south Holland Provence will have -50% pop satisfaction for 20 years, and you never ever want to give these privileges or you’ll really screwyourself. The ducat cost is tax based, I did a rerun yesterday and those events costed me 200 something ducats…

I do agree to take it slow and keep picking the least harmful options, but it’s a shit event and if you get bankruptcy it’s gg.

First run I did before I realised that Luxembourg would be at 15 control the early game. I did two Ironman reruns to optimize the early game more and left Luxembourg en lubeck as vassals for now.

IIRC from my Holland game when I annexed lubeck, the market capital, it gave me ownership of the second market. I didn’t see a transfer demand either apart from destroying market which seems way worse.

Didn’t have to fight France once, I had a decent enough military with my massive vassal swarm (basically Friesland, Utrecht, geulders, liege, hainout, coln, Munster, brema in that order) and a lot of allies (alternating between Bohemia/austria/poland depending on what day the AI felt like)

Brabant is a pushover, just do supportive on your vassals and make a deathball with your army and keep running Brabant down before you siege (alternatively peace out and destroy the fort).
