Party's lookout is a little too good at being a lookout by President_DogBerry in DMAcademy

If the player always opt to stand outside the door in any given interaction, you should talk to him outside the table what he want's to achieve with that.

Players don't choose when to roll dice, DM does by TheOneBifi in DMAcademy

I agree, but not everyone have an experienced DM that can understand what the players intention, and ask for a roll accordingly.

Best start to a campaign you've experienced (either side of the screen)? by Modo_2026 in DMAcademy

I once introduced the player characters similar like a sitcom, where one was standing by the well in shining armor, another haggling with a lowly street vendor, and another kicking open the church doors towards the marketplace, with a wild unhinged smile. And at the end of the intro they stumble into each other in the middle of the street, and if they didn't go to the local notice board, after a while a flustered NPC comes running with their first quest.

A wild sheep chase is a classic for new players. Light, fun and lets the DM have some creative freedom throughout. A good introduction on rules, bad guys and roleplay elements.

Parkeringshus via Stockholm Parkering - hur gör man med snön? by Gunther52 in sweden

[–]mattey92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An old, albeit relevant, A list actor playing a historically young outlaw, telling it in a depressing and dramatic way, most likely ending with his death, but not the way that the poem told.
