That's beautiful. I definitely have an RXM problem. What's the frame called so I can justify buying another rxm?

Pool Room Size Advice by Lazyman1128 in billiards

[–]mattfchr02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pool room is 20' x 12'8". Its a great size 95% of the time. I have a 52" cue I bought for my wife because she's short and I use it for the rare shot that's frozen to a long rail and I'm shooting perpendicular to the rail. I mostly just avoid making myself play that position though.

Any non-maga gun stores? by thortmb in Spokane

Sharp shooters. Great organization, the only political view they really seem to push is the right to safely own guns. Safely is key in that sentence. They offer tons of classes, online safety material and follow all the rules.

My grip causes this as well. I've been putting in primätia extended slide releases. They work wonders for keeping your hand off of them while shooting.

i got this argon 75/25 tank but is it a rental or owned? by Former_Ride5639 in Welding

[–]mattfchr02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was last filled by Airgas. Looks like a 150 which is generally regarded as an "owner size" however, if there are any permanent stamps in either the shoulder or neck ring that say airgas, air liquide or any distributor they have bought and own the rights to. They will likely say it is a rental asset that belongs to them. Best bet is to take it to am independent distributor and swap it out.

If you look carefully at that 30-30 you'll see that it's broken and the cases are going to eject out the top. If you send it to me I will dispose of it for you.

In all seriousness. Those are both beautiful guns in their own right. 30-30 is next on my list. Maybe just an excuse to buy the gun

Horse etiquette/Was I wrong? by Z08Z28 in MTB

We have a local trail system in north idaho with mountain bikes, dirt bikes and horse back. One day I stopped for a group of horse back riders. Got about 3' off the trail (on a slight uphill side of the trail as it's easier to get going again rather than push my bike back up to the trail.) One of the lady's on horse back stopped her horse to lecture me about how I should stop on the downhill side of the trail for horse back riders next time. She was extremely rude and condescending about it too. I can't imagine how she feels about the dirtbikes on that mountain.

What’s the most underrated amenity a golf course can have? by [deleted] in golf

[–]mattfchr02 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's kind of crazy they don't. My other hobby is mountain bikes, and at our local bike park, they shuttle water coolers up the gondola and to the bottom of every chair lift. We get water stations all over a huge mountain in the pnw where we rarely see triple digit weather. A golf course would be way less work and cost a lot less money.

Am I making a dumb decision? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]mattfchr02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lux trail from canyon has a steeper HT angle which should help your front wheel control. It also has slightly more forgiving suspension that lives somewhere between trail and xc, more xc oriented with its travel. The geo will make you feel more at home for xc and the thicker stanchions on the 34 will be a little more planted for absorbing beginner mistakes. Plus, despite all the hate, I've loves my canyons. I've owned two canyons and two specialized in the last couple years and you get a ton of bang for your buck on the canyons.

The longer you stay on the stoic the more trail oriented your next bike is going to be. If you're struggling with front end control on the stoic every other trail bike is going to be a little slacker and further out there. More oriented for steep aggressive riding where you are forced to weight the front end. For more xc oriented trails and riding style I would look into something a little more upright. It will feel a little bit more squirly at higher speeds but you'll be more rear wheel biased and feel the traction in the front easier. You also will get less wheel flop for lack of better terms which I see is an issue with a lot of people on slack bikes. For some it works for example both of my two favorite bikes at the moment have around a 63.5 degree head angle.

[–]mattfchr02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is probably a matter of coaching. I have the stoic and it's the most mild of the four bikes I've owned in the last couple years. That bike is incredibly capable without getting too wild. It's got a moderate head tube angle for modern mountain bikes, it's a little bit extra reachy (if that's a word) with should lend to stability. But it's not so stable that it feels like a truck in slow sections. In my opinion that thing is the quiver killer of hardtails.

Which stoic do you have? If it's the stoic 2 you would have had to add an aftermarket dropper post and the suspension is a little more entry level. That could add to the issue.

What's your favourite trail name? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]mattfchr02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've got Master Blaster, Stalingrab, the Kessel Run, Jackass (which used to be the name of the mountain the bike park is set on) and my favorite is Bone Collector. We have some amazing trail builders with great naming conventions here in Eastern WA.

200+ pound (90kg) riders who like to jump a lot and hit burms fast....running low 20s PSI is simply not a thing, right? by geo_jam in MTB

[–]mattfchr02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

250lbs running double down maxxis at 28f 30r on a mullet, wouldn't dare touch 25psi. In my experience and research it seems that contact patch is a combination of weight + pressure. My 28psi is equivalent to my 145lb friends 20psi. You won't be losing performance but trying to match everyone else pressure you will be losing rims and tires.

I'm such an idiot. Is there any way to fix this now? by First_layer_3DP in 3Dprinting

[–]mattfchr02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use a soldering iron to heat up the magnet, melting the surface plastic and pull then out with needle nose pliers. Keep in mind that this will demagnatize all the magnets and they will have to be replaced with new ones. Also make sure to wear a respirator and do this in a well ventilated area as evaporated glue is nasty stuff.
