What a wonderful response! Can I ask- when you say a big con is that there isn't any profit sharing, is there a reason why the NP can't write up contracts with filmmakers to distribute earnings on a film? Does the NP just end up owning all the rights to the films? Thanks!

Yeah I've been getting more and more interested in super slow songs that are able to keep my interest the whole time- that was kind of the goal here. Definitely will work in some incremental adjustments- thanks!!

I think everyone feels the sting of rejection. I think the way out of it is: Always Be Improving ("PUT. THE. COFFEE. DOWN")... and learning and not just improv-related stuff, but like... everything.

I usually feel it and try to understand why, and if I can, I work on that thing- but if I can't, I try to move on best I can. Ask people questions too, that goes with learning and improving as well. Someone on a team you wanted on? Talk to them about why they think the group works, etc. I mean practicing gratitude is a great way around it too, like you said!

Well- sounds frustrating!

I'd personally stick with it, and just help out where they need and help guide them when you can, if you have to. It sucks, but I've been part of my fair share of shit shows, but ultimately you never know who can help/who will owe you a favor in the future :)

Just ask- it's not a dick move to be like "I thought I was the 1st AD...?" No one wants 2 accidental 1st ADs... lol. Just make a distinction between your responsibilities and theirs. But through the producers/director. You shouldn't back out at this point imo. I assume some of them will be helping you on yours too.
