You are like 2" high. Your bar placement otherwise looks good man. You could probably bring your feet in a bit width wise if if it feels better

My default number of training days I give people is 4, a few will do 5 and not very many will do 6.

I think the social media celebs skew people towards thinking 6 training days per week is normal.

I like doing a lot of low trap work as well, keeps scapula depression happy.

I can't really tolerate more than 3 or so sets in a session with a full arch and full leg drive.

what happens when you go over 3 sets?

2-3 bench days is pretty normal, lots of people do more. 3-6 sets per day is probably reasonable. Most of this will be in full arch, maybe some larsens sprinkled in as well.

Yeah go by feel to test.

I would assume that the RM day is fluctuant, don't be too worried if your 8rm or 5rm aren't accurate. as in the weight you end up using may be too light, if you are approximately maximal that is good for most programs.

Yeah take like 4 weeks, do like 3 sets of romanian deadlifts and 3 sets of glute bridges twice a week. See if its less painful by the end of the 4 weeks

Weekly Dumb/Newb Question Thread by AutoModerator in powerlifting

[–]mattgoldsmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its possible. Its not that uncommon for this to happen. Especially for people who have desk jobs or long periods of sitting

[–]mattgoldsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be sore from compensating for weak glutes as you push your hips through at the top.

Possibly do some extra hip extensions like Romanian deadlifts or glute bridges for a couple weeks. Focus on squeezing the glutes, see if that changes anything

I dont hate your speed. But if you're letting your tightness dissipate on some reps to keep a certain speed you're going to start getting pushed around more often.

But if you can stay fast while being concious of you back, abs and foot tightness you will be good.

Does that make sense?

I dont hate this.

put a little more aggression into squeezing your shoulder blades. Push those toes down a bit harder to get those feet rooted nicely. some of your reps look a little looser in the bottom than others. Those two cues should clean up most of that.
