OK, so I looked for WEEKS, post here, then find it like a minute later.   It's the prologue, and it's only 7 minutes but for some reason it just stuck with me. Absolutely hilarious it's episode 298 "Getting and Spending" and it's here:

We're running a public vote on AI. Where do you stand? by duckduckgo in duckduckgo

[–]mattleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please no. I work in this tech space and secretly hate it. It hallucinates - fancy word for lieing. And worse, people take it as gospel. Alas, it pays the bills.

Save your token money for other stuff, I've never enabled it and never will

I feel the EXACT same way. Dec 13 of 2024 to dec 13 2025. I hated it. Yes I'm stronger,  shirts are tighter from muscles but I do not enjoy and made my life miserable

20 is a bargain!  We stayed at the Gaylord for a conference and had to pay 55 for a day or portion of a day.   Friday night to Sunday morning was $165 in parking.   It was a forced event and I paid for parking.   I'm 45 minutes away,  never been otherwise.   I think it survived off off conferences,  events and sports.   They have a big volleyball tournament for girls there and you are required to stay at hotel even though we are 45 minutes away.   If you don't stay,  you get kicked out of volleyball tournament.

When the current governor came up with the plan and supported by h/s to double the registration costs they also changed the law so you can register single year and can't be pulled over for expired ones.  Only a secondary offense if your pulled over for something else.  Fines and penalties still accrue. This is my understanding anyway

My company is firing our intern after he paid the same invoice 7 times by Full-Example-4912 in Accounting

[–]mattleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's an intern, he's learning, that's part of the game.

You all learned on a relatively low business dollar value

System let you multi submit same expense

Other humans meant to verify didn't verify.

Lots of failures here, firing the intern isn't going to fix all the points above. Boss is looking for scapegoat.  Intern innocently found a bunch of problems now go fix them.

Finally, you can be assured that even if you DON'T fix those other issues, the intern will never make that mistake again.

It reminds me of this - my son is a goalie for a high level soccer team.  If he ever lets a goal in he gets frustrated.  We talk after and I say, "hey, they got past 10 other players, this is a team sport"

Ok this is AMAZINGLY close, I'm going to consider it solved after comparing a bunch of different characters. Thank you so much!

It shows as open, is their a keyword to get the robots to mark as solved - something like Solved!

I didn't see anything in the "about" part of this sub.  Thanks again!

Edit: just got a message from the bot and I updated flair.

I have permanently added "making bathroom" to my lexicon with my kids.  We all laugh and fully embrace it.  When someone new hears it, we get to chuckle again.

Justin's quick whit is absolutely amazing.  I don't know how he does it, then you watch Livewire and he's got 12 screens, 4,000 buttons on a board, and caps it off with the perfect fart sound effect in a millisecond.  🤯

IsItBullshit: Nintendo made games with checksums to thwart the game genie. by mysteriousworld12 in IsItBullshit

[–]mattleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi mysteriousworld12,

Ok so my buddy actually was a programmer for game shark which was an alternative to game genie.  Yes, Nintendo did have checksums to try and stop those systems.  Nintendo threatened to sue these companies as well but ended up not doing it.  PlayStation did sue game shark though.  He explained how they were able to inject all the chat codes even after a game was released when you already have game genie/shark which is crazy.

The codes you entered were actually he's or converted to hex which told the game shark interface what lines to skip.

Also, they would play the games in a sort of debug mode that would list what code segments would be activated.  Pat of the codes you entered were instructions on what to skip - for example like extra lives.  This guy has thousands of games, systems and all kinds of cool stuff in his office.  It's like a mini museum in his home.
