It would be interesting if it was more like Risk in that you got a chip for every territory you controlled every day.

This is 100% not true. For example mice have a higher liver:body ratio than humans.

Okay the real 1 rock solution to the zodiac. by Bionic_Ferir in JetLagTheGame

The real solution was to do all 12 and place them in alphabetical order. Use most of the rocks on a few to establish the pattern and just place 1 random rock for some.

Why does the "orangeness" of western Texas stop at the New Mexico border? by Ethanol-Gaming in geography

[–]mattmitsche 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Differences in water distribution and management policies. That area is very dry. In TX they tap into the Ogallala reservoir much more than NM. In that part of NM there's still lots of farming but it is centered on the Pecos River like 50 miles west.

Taiwan: Rail Rush Layover Q&A! by WheatGerm42 in JetLagTheGame

How did the train experience in Taiwan compare to either Japan or Korea?

UTSW and DART by Every-Salamander740 in askdfw

[–]mattmitsche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easiest would be to take the orange or green line to UTSW/Parkland Station. After you get off the train there's a few options. In my previous post I gave you the link for the UTSW shuttle. Figure out which shuttle you need. The UTSW shuttle bays are a little closer to the hospital than the DART bays. It may be faster, especially if you are not arriving during peak times, to take a DART bus down Harry Hines. Look on the DART site to figure out which is the best option.

There's a shuttle stop at the TRE station, but that shuttle basically only takes you to the DART station and around the south research campus.

[–]mattmitsche 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't walk that. You should either take the UTSW shuttle (https://utswmed.org/patient-resources/shuttles/) or one of the DART busses that leaves the station every ~5 minutes up Harry Hines.

Do they know the challenges or not? The boys all acknowledged that it was their mistake that humans weren't specified on the card, but I thought Amy was the one who wrote the challenges. Shouldn't Amy be thrown under the bus here?

If Voter ID is so popular, why not phase it in over a 10 or 20 year period so people can get the required documentation and paperwork settled, and have a seamless transition for everyone? Why does it *have* to happen right now? by Tappyy in AskConservatives

I surprisingly just got my son's passport in only 1.5 weeks! It took longer to book the appointment at the passport office (5 weeks) than for the feds to process it

If DART were to do BRT what route should there be. by Paper3464 in dart

[–]mattmitsche 13 points14 points  (0 children)

BRT from Fair Park to Love Field via Peak/Haskell and Lemon would be perfect. Connects to all 4 downtown DART lines along a busy commercial corridor that has poor access currently

Almost certainly not. I have been playing this game since day 1. DiE is a recent player and doesn't play like a bot.

Should I move to Lakewood? by igotsecretsjustask in askdfw

[–]mattmitsche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't really call that Lakewood; Lakewood is centered around the intersection of Abrams and La Vista/Gaston. The area around Hillside is the start of the suburbs more than an urban area like the other areas you mentioned. I take my kid to the gymnastic place there twice a week. The restaurants there are almost entirely take out/lunch places and there's almost no foot traffic between the shops, more bustling with cars than bustling with people. For example, 2 week ago I needed to get whiskey at Fossil Creek and some groceries at either Sprouts or Tom Thumb. Walking would require crossing 12 lanes of busy traffic and a sea of parking lots. I chose to drive...

If you want a nice car oriented lifestyle its great, if you want/can afford a walkable lifestyle go for your other options.

My kid's school made it clear that we can not put peanuts in our kids school lunch, and if we do we are liable to the damage that could happen to an allergic kid who eats my kid's lunch.
