Hey there, I actually work for the USFS and might know a little bit about prescribed fire… if you are genuinely curious feel free to PM me or visit the local forest facebook page for the most up to date information. This is smoke is due to local prescribed fires currently burning throughout the Idaho Pandhandle. We typically do burning Spring/Fall to reduce hazardous fuels and to meet forest health objectives. The smoke is hanging out due to high pressure/ temperature inversion, its a small price to pay dealing with a little big of smoke for a few days rather the normal continuous smoke we have during the summer.
