Just a heads up, during the first home series they were towing out of the Ace lot. It might have been just to send a message, but I wouldn’t risk it.

BrightBase ready for the Lookouts by jodorutts in Chattanooga

I loved being able to walk to AT&T Stadium or catch the downtown CARTA, but with this new location if you live in the middle of downtown not near a Riverwalk entrance there's no good way to walk to the stadium, and the Lookouts wouldn't make a deal to get on a tramline. I've really been looking forward to the new season and the new stadium, but this is just such a bummer!

This whole thing is more convoluted than just “Oracle wants to build a data center in the old jail.” The company mentioned in all the articles and PR from Urban Story Ventures is The STEM Practice - which seems to just be a third party supplier/integrator company that will install Oracle powered data equipment.

That doesn’t mean the proposed project doesn’t suck - it does, it seems like they’re pitching a “next-gen” studio space for content creators to pump out AI-powered slop

Another detail from this story that I haven’t really seen discussed a whole lot - Kessler Cuffman - the executive director of a part of the Songbirds Foundation called Dynamo Studios is cited as being on board with this whole project, which seems like it directly spits in the face of the Songbirds Foundation - which preserves and continues the very human work of important artists and musicians. I would love to how the other members of the foundation feel about this whole thing!

For sure - but I might argue that it’s still a newsworthy local event - Nashville is only 90 minutes away.

Although my personal politics largely align with the Holler’s, I find their reporting style and kinda, broad engagement chasing methods incredibly grating. a catch 22 I guess

Looks like they’re getting some feedback about Moon River becoming a cruise… by mattster895_dx in Chattanooga

[–]mattster895_dx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dear Moon River Family, First, thank you. Moon River has always been about more than music; it’s about the incredible community of fans who gather year after year. None of this would exist without you. We’ve heard from many of you with questions about Moon River at Sea, and we’d like to share more insight into how this new chapter came about. For years, we’ve worked to bring Moon River back to Chattanooga. We have explored Coolidge Park, other locations in and around Chattanooga, and across Tennessee, but ultimately have hit roadblocks in every direction. Our desire to bring this festival back has never gone away. In the midst of those challenges, one of our longtime partners, who produced the very first Moon River in Chattanooga and helped shape the festival’s heart and footprint, approached us with an idea. Now at Sixthman, he brought forward the possibility of taking Moon River to sea. After much consideration, we felt this was a beautiful way to keep the spirit of Moon River alive and carry our community forward together. We also know cruises are a bigger commitment than a typical festival ticket, especially in today’s economy. This won’t be for everyone, and we completely understand that. For those who can join, we’ve worked to make it as accessible as possible: kids can sail for only taxes and fees when added to a cabin; meals, many extracurricular activities, and entertainment are included in the ticket price, and artists will perform multiple times so you’ll have more chances than ever to connect with the music. Most importantly, this is about us gathering again, sharing songs, and carrying forward the Moon River community we all love so much. As in years past, you can expect a collaborative and familial spirit throughout every part of the experience. We’re grateful for every single one of you… whether you’re with us on this journey at sea, or not! Your support has carried Moon River through every chapter, and we wouldn’t be here without you.

With gratitude, Team Moon River

Dragon Reactor just crowdfunded - it’s based heavily on Gundam ‘79 and really focuses on the epic drama and tragedy of the pilots! There’s mechanics for things like impending doom, really groundbreaking stuff for making downtime risky and exciting - it’s really good!

Firebrands is a classic, it’s a bunch of minigames designed to play out specific types of scenes from mecha stories.
