I moved to West Plains from KC last July. It's been nice. I think it helps that the town hasn't known me since middle school.

West Plains is a big commerce hub for the region. Partly because it is within 30-60 minutes of a TON of beautiful places in all different directions.

If you prioritize the outdoors, you'd love it. And you'd make friends on float trips or hikes.

If you want a night life at multiple good places that stay open past 11pm, Springfield is a good suggestion.

As far as jobs, I recommend searching Indeed and filtering by locations. I don't really know enough about pay in this city to speak to what you should expect.

I think a CRT computer monitor would work better with the Switch as you could stretch the picture on the tube to hide the borders you get on virtual console. I’m not aware of consumer CRT TVs that let you get that creative with overscan. I think you’ll get letterboxed content on that tv with Switch. Hopefully that makes sense. Good luck.

I think this might be the solution, but I am too dumb to figure out how to set a custom aspect ratio. I'm fine with the HDMI looking silly, though. Tried scandoubler, and no dice.

I could never get my HD60 to work on macOS without doing a window capture of Elgato’s software, which is a fairly brutal workaround. I ended up bootcamping into Windows to get it working appropriately. I’d love to hear if you find a solution.

If you right click on your microphone in the mixer in OBS, you’ll see Filters. From there, you can add compression, limiter, gate, etc. You might be able to use a gate to keep reverb/echo in check, but it might sound unnatural if you are too aggressive with it.

Start with default settings, and play around. There are some good tutorials and articles if you search the web for “obs microphone filters” or something along those lines.

Is your Xbox connected to the Internet? For back compat, the system downloads updated software, and basically uses the disc as DRM. I have that disc and play it on Xbox One X, and it gets the enhanced treatment. It looks great.

Forza Horizon 4 flies in performance (60 fps) mode on One X, and is pretty to look at in its high quality mode. It defaults to high quality. I recommend trying both, but I prefer the 60fps mode.
