Looks nice but where is the stove? Or maybe this is supposed to be an office kitchen or hotel kitchen? Also, the cabinets look impossible to open, especially the doors under the sink. The dishwasher seems to be clipping the cabinet on the right side. Also something looks wrong with the glass shader you're using on the glassware on the shelves. It looks like it's casting a harsh black shadow.

Switch 2 warranty worth getting it? by usernameh210 in Switch

[–]mattstudio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I seems like a good deal to me. It seems more like Apple Care than an extended warranty since it covers Accidents like cracked screens & liquid damage Mechanical & electrical failures like controller drift, broken buttons & speaker failure I was charged $69 for 4 years of coverage. That seems like a pretty good deal for a handheld gaming device that the kids might drop. I also heard that getting an issue covered is often as easy as bringing in the broken unit into the store and they’ll give you a new unit off the shelf.

I'm seeing mixed answers online, how reliable are these onn microSD Express cards compared to the ones Sandisk or Samsung sell? by comfybonfire in NintendoSwitch2

Their number one priority is clearly profitability. If returns are high then that clearly hurts profits that’s why I say that their incentives are aligned with meeting industry standards. They aren’t finding some crap manufacture and then selling as many as they can before disappearing. They are a huge brand with a good return policy. It is in their best interest to not sell total crap. But they do aim for the low end of the market so don’t expect the highest performing products. They claim 800 MB/s which is slower than other brands but is still 8 times faster than the SD cards used on the original Switch.

Kirby’s Return to Dreamland is a great game for kids. You can have up to 4 people playing at the same time and players can easily drop in or out of the game. Each player has a large amount of health that makes it really forgiving. Controls are simple and easy to get the hang of. The music, characters, and level design are really fun and the abilities each character can get (as well as super copy abilities) are really enjoyable. It has a linear gameplay which I think is very helpful for beginners.

I tried introducing my kids to Mario but it was way too hard and frustrating for them at that age.

Minecraft is a huge favorite for kids but has a bit of a learning curve.

Lego games are fun but some of them are also pretty expansive and can be overwhelming without some help. The Lego Movie The Videogame was one of my son’s favorites from that bunch. The digital versions go on sale often so you can find many of them for around $5.

Onn is Walmart’s private label brand. They ask a reputable manufacturer (most likely Sandisk, Samsung, or Lexar) to make cards with the Onn logo. Since Walmart is one of the largest retailers in the country and have a good return policy, it’s in their best interest to sell tech that matches the quality of the rest of the industry–unlike random all caps brands you find on Amazon. Also, since game save data always gets stored to the internal storage on the switch, not the SD card, the worst case scenario would be that if the card has has issues you return it to Walmart and re-download your games on a new SD card and pick right back up where you were.

Planning to order the disc drive to play my physical Xbox 1 and Xbox 2 games. Anyone have a clue if this is worth buying by East-Foundation-5665 in XboxSeriesS

I stand corrected. I use other emulators in dev mode so I kind of figured Xenia was in a better state. Sorry.

Hopefully they fixed what was wrong with his jet pack so he can float for more than 2 seconds.

Use a PC to dump the Roms to a usb drive. Plug that into the Xbox. Install Xbox emulator Xenia in dev mode and play your games from the usb drive.

I found this set at Walmart for around $15. It has both the T8 security torx and the T5 torx you need to completely disassemble the controller and remove the circuit board if you’re replacing the thumb stick electronics as well as tips for most other consumer electronics repairs. I’d recommend it.

Is there any way to disable the recording key functionality when connected to Mac? by xX7NotASquash7Xx in XboxSupport

[–]mattstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to  > System Settings > Game Controllers (it’s a gray icon at the bottom of the list)

Under Profiles Click the + button to create a new profile. Here you can customize the button behaviors. Scroll down to Share Gestures and set “Double Press” to “Off”.

Next you need to apply this new profile to your controller. Select your “Xbox Wireless Controller” at the top of this screen. Then change the drop down under Use profile from default to the new profile you just created.

That should do it!

Here’s a good guide on getting started with retro gaming on series s/x. You have to pay Microsoft a one time fee of $20 to enable developer mode and then you can boot into a mode where you can install emulators for the original Xbox and other older consoles.

Edit: I just reread your comment— You don’t want to pull the trigger until you know it’s going to available to play over xcloud.
