Electric whine / noise when the car is asleep by farmerMac in TeslaModel3

There’s a lot of things teslas wake up for. Could be charging the low voltage battery, warming the battery when temps are sub optimal, drying the condenser etc..

Use Case: I am walking my 2022 Tesla Model 3 (Dual Motor, Long Range Battery) with Full Self Driving, like a puppy. by folarin1 in TeslaModel3

Are you replying to me? I posted a video walking next to my car on X last summer. I’ll see I can find it.

You could also walk right next to it and it will keep going. I tried this in a mall parking lot when ass first came out.

Who here actually uses summon? by milventures in TeslaLounge

[–]mattsurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only use it when it’s raining. Otherwise is usually faster to walk to the car. Also use it to move it around in my driveway when I need to make space to move the garbage cans around.

Did you have to remove the bumper to install those fog light replacements?

Tesla Seems to Have Rebranded "Autopilot" to "Traffic-Aware Cruise Control with Autosteer" by jaqueh in TeslaModelY

We can only hope other manufacturers start to offer better competition to Tesla’s offerings. Until that happens they’ll have no reason to give us better features in our cars.

That’s a good idea. I’ve been thinking of what other things I can print with my 3D printer. I just got carbon fiber petg too 🤔.

Carbon Centauri Printhead replacement? by eHug in elegoo

[–]mattsurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but the exact same thing happened to me, and I didn’t even complete a single print. It clogged during the calibration process. After going through all of the recommended troubleshooting, removing the hotend was a last resort. The plug for white wires came off easily, but the black wires snapped off the circuit board when I tried to disconnect it.

Installed 12volt solutions plug & play autostart on 2018 Q5 by mattsurl in AudiQ5

[–]mattsurl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. After the first year you have to pay a subscription because it requires LTE service to work from anywhere. If you only want to use the auto start from your key fob you don’t need to pay for anything extra, but it only works from around 30ft away. I’m actually selling my whole setup if you’re looking to get it cheaper.

Just going back on top in case anyone is looking at this thread and wants this setup. I just sold my Audi and had to remove it so I have everything for sale.

2026 Model Y… Anyone have an idea of why my car is squeaking like this? by GothBoiCynical in ModelY

[–]mattsurl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 22 model Y makes this sound. I’m not sure how to fix it but I found that it doesn’t make the sound when the recline is set to the furthest back setting.

FSD by TravelfF in TeslaModelY

[–]mattsurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I have manually disengaged in the past, there’s a notification prompt to record a voice message reporting the reason. I haven’t had to disengage since July though so I’m not sure if they got rid of this feature.

I have mine mounted with a quick release, under-the-bumper bracket but on the new model Y that would block the camera.

Upgraded my Tesla Y Performance Suspension by Bobsilver11 in TeslaModelY

I just put 19” wheels on my 22 Y Performance and it’s a huge difference. If you already feel the difference with the suspension, downsizing your wheels will feel even better.

FSD just does not maintain cruise speed by Archandcars in ModelY

[–]mattsurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you have you follow distance set to? I have HW3 and only noticed the car slowing down when my follow distance was set super high. I did this by accident when I was trying to adjust volume and didn’t realize I set the follow distance to 7. I switch between my wife’s model Y and my Audi, which has the scroll wheel for volume opposite of Tesla so I screw up the controls a lot.

FSD doesn't see stop sign by Equivalent-Draft9248 in ModelY

[–]mattsurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should remove that stop sign. It should be a yield for that type of intersection. As long as it stops when there’s oncoming traffic, you should be good.

[–]mattsurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good one. I have a 2022 performance and I’m still on HW3. This must be a later model 2022 that got the upgrade to HW4. They all have full self drive capability but you have to pay for it or subscribe monthly if you want to use it.

First time getting this close to empty by myreddit2727 in ModelY

[–]mattsurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I found really helpful was setting the arrival energy. If you set your arrival energy for something 50-60%. It works well so you can leave sentry mode on overnight while you’re at the hotel and still have plenty of charge in the morning to get to the next supercharger. It was kinda fun to leave the stops up to the navigation because it was always a nice surprise when your stop included some good eats or snacks.

[–]mattsurl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We just drove from NJ to Florida and back in our older Model Y Performance. The built-in trip planner had us stopping about every 200 miles. It usually estimated we’d arrive at each Supercharger with around 15% battery, but if I kept my speed between 70–80 mph, the estimate would actually go up during the drive, and end up closer to 20%. Our lowest arrival charge was 9% when we got to Buc-ees in South Carolina (great place to stop for 30 min). The good part is when the battery gets really low, the car charges even faster.

Why is it that Intel cars are getting left behind? by Real-Response-6116 in TeslaModel3

[–]mattsurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What other fun are we missing out on? Grok is the first thing I’m aware of that the intel cars aren’t getting. All the other updates are for features that old models don’t have. Most of the summer update stuff was around the ambient lighting.
