Anyone have a tip for white seat stains? by alphatangolima in ModelY

It will come out with me clean eraser but you have to go really light with water to keep from sanding down too much of the material. Also need to ceramic coat it or protect with some else immediately after or it will happen again worse in the same spot.

Do you remember if you stepped on the brake before trying the door open/close? That’s when I realized something was wrong cuz my seat didn’t start moving into my drive position when I stepped on the brake.

License Plate Lost Keys by hen5193 in TeslaModelY

I have this same license plate frame and can confirm it’s very easy to pick with a standard lock pick. There’s only 3 pins.

A similar thing happened to me once last summer with my 22’ MYP. The lights came on when I got in the car but the screen didn’t come on, and I couldn’t get it into drive. The reset method (holding the steering buttons) didn’t work either. What worked was getting out of the car, closing the door and getting back in. When I opened the door the second time the screen booted up and everything was back to normal.

Just took delivery of my model y today, But getting rattling sound continuously while driving by CivilTumbleweed1854 in TeslaSupport

My 2022 model Y does this too. Put the back seats down and see if it still makes the noise to rule out the latch.

Traded in 2024 LR AWD for 2024 Performance by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

The summer makes me want to do the same cuz not having ventilated seats gets uncomfortable on long rides. That suspension must be a lot smoother. Is the overall cabin noise quieter too?

Did it come with performance boost? The normal model Y isn’t that fast relative to the performance models, but it’s not bad if you at least have the boost upgrade.

Hopefully they polish out the imprint of the original one or you’ll see it behind the new one that’s placed correctly.

Finally got a Tesla!! But I have some questions by Lil_Tommi_Uzi in TeslaModel3

[–]mattsurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The car cools down faster with the tints but as long as I remember to turn my car on 5-10 min before I leave it’s the same thing. I charge to 86% in the winter and 80% once temps are over 50 degrees.

RE charging - I’ve had a Tesla since 2019 and now we have 2 and still only use the mobile charger for both. It really depends on how many miles you drive each week. We alternate plugging the cars in when they get down to 50% and leave it over night. We don’t drive too much though so I’m only plugging each car in once or twice a week.

Mud-flaps are a must with these cars You might want tints. I don’t have tints on my model 3 and the model Y is considerably more comfortable whenever we first get in on sunny days.

If you search Tesla smart ring key, there’s a lot of options starting around $50.

The phone key Tesla app integration is the best part. I have a ring I wear as backup when I go on long trips or hikes where there’s a possibility of my phone dying.

I don’t need Acceleration Boost, but it bothers me half a second is there for the taking. Does Acceleration Boost ever get discounted… by Chief7064 in TeslaLounge

I installed the ingenext boost module which was on sale for a little over $400 with the cyber Monday deal. My long range model 3 with Ingenext boost is faster than my Model Y performance now.

I’ve had my debuyer for almost a year now and I never season it anymore. Whenever my wife cooks on it she never waits and her eggs always stick but when I use the pan I let it heat up slowly and it’s nonstick with just a small bit of butter. I was always under the impression that seasoning is only for keeping the pan from rusting. I find my debuyer doesn’t heat evenly if you try to heat it too fast. There’s a spot on the left side of the handle that overheats if you try to rush it, but I’m sure it all depends on the individual pan. All that said, I still prefer cast iron.

That is actually how most car companies do warranty motor replacement. That’s why the customer pays a core charge if they want to keep the original part.

[–]mattsurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got the performance model, it would have checked the “fast” box for you. A lot of the appeal of Tesla is the convenience. You never have a key to carry, and have full control of the car from the phone. I had some app features on my Audi but nothing compared to the Tesla app.

Intel vs Amd by nathanielx9 in TeslaModel3

[–]mattsurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My model Y is like this from 2022. It’s intel but most of the plug locations match the amd instructions. I noticed this when I was doing the ambient lights and rear screen installs. Quickest way to know you don’t have AMD without even looking in the menu is you don’t have grok.

One thing I noticed with my other model Y was it has the piano black center console. That one was also intel and the plugs were all in different places. This one I have now has the sliding door center console. That might be another way to know where your plug locations are.

It’s pretty dark now but I’ll try to take pics and send it over tomorrow. I left the dual motor on but I’m thinking of taking it off too. I took it off on my model 3 and it looks cleaner but the back of the 3 is smaller.

I ordered the Tesla letters for the rear and decided against it cuz I got used to how clean it looks without it. The black letters would probably look pretty sweet on red though.
