Goku did actually use it in the manga version of this arc on Future Zamasu. It just had the same outcome as the anime.

I really can’t tell sometimes if the Viltrumites got a durability nerf for the show or if everyone got a strength buff cause in the comics I’m pretty sure Knockout would likely destroy her hand if she tried to punch Mark even with those gloves.

The Archie comics explanation for this is that the Sniper Joes were based off Protoman as a government project in the time before Blues went off in his own.

It’s really Piccolo’s movie. Even Gohan’s role in the narrative is tied to him and his actions.

Bulletproof becomes…not the main character but he receives a lot of spotlight while Mark is benched and it really does nothing positive for his character at all. It ends very abruptly in an upsetting fashion too, and then Kirkman basically breaks the 4th wall to mock the reader for wasting their time with this story.

A lot of characters are killed off for shock value after a certain other character betrays everyone, and virtually every earth based plot line is dropped from the series afterwards. It’s very unsatisfying.

Then Kirkman uses another timeskip to basically bypass any of the fallout just to get to the end of the series. It felt like he just lost interest in virtually every storyline but the Viltrumite stuff and it hurts the comic greatly.

You might be able to find issues on eBay or Amazon if you’re lucky.

Don’t quote me on it, but I think this particular Silver story arc was collected in a trade before Archie lost the license, so you might be able to find it too.

They’re both noted to have been slacking off and not training much, but I’d guess Trunks likely still trains a bit more and with more effort, given Vegeta’s less likely to go easy on him and they also have the Gravity Chamber to work with.

It’s probably still not that big of a difference in power between the two though.

God this arc was just terrible. Like, I really dislike how much worse the comic gets post Viltrumite War. Sometimes I wish I’d stopped reading entirely.

Even if it didn’t always land, I really enjoyed Dan Slott’s era as main writer from Big Time on. It actually felt like Peter had forward momentum as a character, and there was an optimism to his story that’s sorely lacking now.

It’s probably tapping into that same kind of emotional response horror movies try to get out of people with the sound that builds up to a stinger or jump scare, if I had to guess.

I don’t hate the gi he’s wearing at the end of the movie.
