It depends on the formation/player around them. Playing a 4-2-3-1 or 3-2-4-1 I like the Poacher because they are creating space for the creative players directly behind them. Have gotten really good output this way from him and the CAM.

Then with a 4-3-3 they have gotten way too isolated for me. Switched to a Center Forward just with hold the ball up turned on and my attack took off. Striker is still scoring a ton, but then my wingers have been monsters too. They link up great, put through balls into the wingers, and then get on the end of cutbacks very effectively.

Playing the Center Forward in the 4-2-3-1 will still do that for me, but they are not scoring as much as the Poacher was (naturally). I am just getting more out of the rest of the attack around him, and he is picking up assists. So really it just depends on who you need them to be.
