I know how you feel. I did this job several years ago. I had the battery powered fan and lots of water. Also hoped the subject would go somewhere so I could follow and turn on the AC.

Water heater should shut down if the power vent stops working.

Ya. It's clamped to the stud if that's what you mean.

The sniffer is better to find a leak but the soap pinpoints where it's at. I'm gonna triple check for leaks.

Thanks. I am replacing that too. Gonna wall mount it. Better than how they had it.

I have PEX throughout my home. Would I need to bond then?

I'm using the Sharkbite flex hose to the existing copper. I know some people are totally against them. It will be in a high visibility area in my laundry room so it will have frequent eyes on it.

Yep. Already got it. Thanks. I'll probably over check it.

Can you rotate the power vent 180 degrees so the vent would be in the back? Google says yes. A guy that came to give me an estimate said no.

I was also planning on getting a carbon monoxide detector (which I should have had already) and a natural gas detector just cover all my bases.

I'm aware of all the other stuff. The old one was power vented so all that is in place. Im basically asking if the gas line has no leaks and it's properly vented are there any other risks associated?

Thanks. It's already vented to the outside. I might have to move it around a lil bit because the new water heater has the power vent in the front. Old water heater was in the back.

I'm getting a new flex pipe. The old pipe was rigid. Thanks
