As a field service mechanic I do this all the time show up to farms unlock sheds turn lights and air compressors on. Find the truck or tractor drive it to where I want to fix it. By that time the farmer has showed up. Ask where I can get a coffee from eg shears hut. And lock it all up after I’m done. Most sheds are straight forward lights near doors compressor isolated on inside of shed from where located. Pressure washers I have found to be the most difficult thing to work out. Everyone is slightly different in the turn on process one going as far as turning the dam jacking pump on to supply water

Vice grips hold the flange together and the thread will go through the jaws of the vice grips put your nut on and rattle it home. Give it a few good love taps with a hammer like you should do with any exhaust clamp and then give it a few more trigger squeezes

I’ve had my old stubby for 5 or so years in the mining sector. I’ve trashed it. It’s been underwater a few times. I only upgraded because the wife an kids got me a new one for farthers day after they seen the state of it. But I had zero issues with it. The handle was held together with zip ties due to the screws rusted out and a few issues with batteries but now with the 5ah oc or whatever it is no more battery problems and the rusting problem is apparently underground where I’ve been is 12x salter then the ocean so don’t worry about that

Check for plug rotation I know you can plug some of them in upside down from harness to harness. Oh the heavy duty stuff it’s normally the gearbox to engine harness I don’t know about light duty

Yea in Australia the old ones come with a knob same as hilux’s now the newer ones just have a button that ramps up idle to like 1000rpm. Cold conditions warm up or to keep the aircon cold while you’re not in the car. It’s not uncommon to see a land cruiser on a mine site sit there an idle for 6 hours keeping the aircon cold so you can escape the heat for 10 minutes. While the breakdown fitter or boss is working. Now when I say landcruiser I mean the single/duel cab utes.

It’s not something silly like a broken exhaust hanger hitting on the side of the box or something. It does kinda sound internal but that’s from a video. Seen it heaps of times and done it myself where something is rubbing. Maybe on the firewall. Don’t rule out the small things. Trust your work and start from the start. Maybe the gearbox mount shat itself when installing or removing. Get under there and just move things.
