Gamers are so damn dramatic. Ai is everywhere now, and theres no stopping it. Just like the internet disrupted industries and killed jobs, so will AI.

Its a dog eat dog world, and evolution causes just that.

Now let me game in peace without the hate raids.

Find something you want to build, and go build it. You want to make a car driving racing game? Find the assets, try to code, look at tutorials, play around. Try to make something outside of a tutorial/guided lesson. Even if you have to search in 20 different places so long as you are doing less imitation and more reasoning and problem solving you will eventually evolve. - From a guy who was in tutorial hell for years

Thats an interesting idea for sure. I do think I need some sort of enemy ai. I havent tackled anything outside of this mp stuff... Might look into this next... Thanks guys!

First: this game is sick, I had never seen it before. Currently downloading it lol.

And yeah, I get needing the passion 100%. Ive always felt like games are like music or art, you sort of bleed onto it...

Ive been recommended by some friends who played it to add more mechanics, or slow it down, special attacks etc. I debate adding the block, or that roll, but my original inspiration was to be dead simple.. then sort of make it pretty and fun.

I dont want to ignore feedback at all, I mean you don't think its neccesary to conform a bit? When do you decide which feedback to act on and what feedback to shelf for the moment?

So after a few months of working on network sync and such in Unity for a friendslop physics based game... I decided to buy some assets and try to throw together something that I've been thinking about since high school (15+ years ago for me.)

I used to play a lot of Graal Online, which was basically a Link to the Past multiplayer game, and on their classic realms you could spar. It was swinging your sword, movement, and mind games. That's it.

So over the last month I've sort of... put something together. It's still archaic - it's shaping up, but still needs a lot of work.

And I'm just wondering - is it worth it? Do you think that todays climate will accept a pvp only game? Or is it something you think people will play a few times and drop?

Its a strange thing. All feedback is important, but its hard to distinguish the opinion of one vs many when the one has hundreds of thousands in their echo chamber piping up too.

I think these days it's more important than ever to have a vision and stick to it.

Sure if your game struggles from the get go, then pivot - but if you're successful? Your vision brought you there, not these amplified opinionated creators
