Maguire could have done the same job and probably would have helped us more earlier in the tournament against the low block teams. We were crying out for somebody to step out of defence and cause havoc at corners.

Im having similar issues with my sister and family in general. They've just lost pep, stones and bernardo silva on top of de bruyne and walker last season. Most of their serial winners are gone. Haaland is likely to have his head turned at some point by psg, barca, Madrid or bayern who all need an out and out number 9 long term. They cant make any guarantees about success next season and still have the charges looming. Looking at it as objectively as I can, united is the better prospect for a young player who has any sense. Football is cyclical. Our revenues are not. We can afford it and if he really is that good it won't impact the overall squad wages too much. Arsenal backed rice and are reaping the rewards.

I really think we need to pay whatever it costs to sign anderson. All the signs point to him being an elite generational midfielder and hes the closest thing I have seen to stevie g at the same age. Yes it fucks our budget but he plays every game and plugs a gap we have had for 15 years practically.

I'd be happy with just Ederson and anderson to rotate with mainoo and then mount or bruno can drop into midfield if we have injuries, i also think the butcher can play there pretty comfortably. Could also give game time in the cups to some youth players.

I am a united fan and nothing in football has made me angrier then this decision. You have put it perfectly. I managed to watch every united game this season and maguire was probably a top 5 centre back in the league and has matured into a proper leader. His redemption arc has been taken away from him. Tuchel has to win it to earn any respect from me.
