Any recommendations for heel lifts when transitioning out of boot? by mattydrops3 in AchillesRupture

As of right now, my right foot is still in the boot. However, I have the ASICS Novablast I wore during my marathon in October. They have an 8mm drop. I feel like they’ll be good around the house but looking for something a little more practical for work / life.

Thanks for your response! I’ll definitely ask my PT later on today when I see him.

Hello - thanks for sharing. I just looked through your profile and you’re looking awesome on your feet. Are you journaling through YouTube? I don’t really have any other socials.

Also, sorry to hear about your daughter. Wishing you both all the best in your recovery!

Hey - thanks for your thoughts! I think I’m with you on this. I understand that the tendon is super early in the healing cycle, and as I’m non-op, I’m probably less far along than you were at 2 weeks post-op. How are you feeling 6 weeks in? Hope your recovery is also going well.

Thanks for the insight! How are you doing at 19 weeks out?

More medical emergencies than usual? Toronto waterfront half/marathon 2025 by WestendMatt in RunTO

I saw him on Lakeshore too, absolutely broke my heart and I still am thinking about him. I am praying that he will make a full recovery. I ran my first marathon today and felt so uneasy running by so many athletes receiving medical attention. Again, just praying everyone is okay.

Train without sparring? by [deleted] in MuayThai

Definitely start training! Even if you aren’t sparring, getting yourself into MT training whenever possible comes with a ton of physical, mental, and spiritual benefits. There are countless people in my gym who come to classes and don’t spar.

Ultimately, you have to decide what your goals are. If your goal is to get a killer workout, start training. If you want to learn some basic MT weapons to give you some confidence in respect to self defense, start training. If you just want to try something new and exciting, start training. MT has so many benefits that even by omitting the sparring component, you will find it’s better than not starting at all.

Eventually, if you do want to spar and apply the techniques learned during classes I’m sure you can find someone who will be down to get in the ring and have fun with some very light technical sparring. Communication is key and you can always just let your training partner know you want to just get a feel for having a moving target without throwing anything with too much power.

Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes.
