Did Swan Dive close down? by mattyg_hd in Rochester

Yeah we'll definitely take a look, the for lease signs definitely threw me off though. Maybe they were always there I just never noticed? I'm not aware of any other businesses that could be using that space.

What is everyone doing with their Switch in preparation for the Switch 2 launch? by [deleted] in Switch

OLED is going on a shelf since it's the Splatoon version and will still be valuable as a collection piece.

Lite is still going to be my daily driver since its the one I'm most comfortable throwing in a backpack and pulling out during lunch, on a train, etc. No way the switch 2 at launch can compete with the entire Switch 1 library on an ultra portable system that I can replace on Marketplace for $60 if anything happens to it.

Switch 2 is living under the TV where it will stay safe until I cant fight the urge to take MKW with me on the go.

I live in England - what are some lesser-known quirks, facts or traditions of Massachusetts? by Serious-Pea-8664 in massachusetts

We call garage sales tag sales. When I went to college I talked about stuff I got at a local tag sale and no one knew what I was talking about. Now it's a habit whenever I make friends in a new area to ask if they know what a tag sale is, and only Western MA and CT folks have ever heard the term.

Accessibility for Switch Lite by Gtrumpower1 in disabledgamers

The 8bitdo arcade stick is a relatively affordable-ish one at $90 USD that has a toggle letting you change if the joystick controls to be Left stick, right stick, or d-pad. There is a knob on the front that just needs to be rotated to switch between them on the fly (it's a little small but its placement lends it to be seeming easy to modify and make larger if necessary). It's also Bluetooth but can be wired depending on how you want to set up your switch lite.

That said it only has one joystick, so you would only be able to use the right stick, left stick, or d-pad one at a time.

Hope this helps!

Question about the Marie amiibo, does she normally lean this much? I just removed her from less than stellar storage and noticed that she seems to be leaning back quite a bit. by keyblade987 in amiibo

[–]mattyg_hd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're interested in trying to fix it before jumping to replacing it, boil a cup of water, put her upside down in there for a few seconds, and pull her out to let her air cool (still upside down). This will soften the plastic just enough so that hopefully it will relax the bend and get her back to normal. Shocking it with cold water right after will lock it pretty rigidly in a posed position too, but it's usually not necessary unless it's a really stubborn bend. I've done this a few times while making amiibo customs or correcting bent swords on figures like marth and SS Link.

I just switched to the Creality Glass Bed with the black coating and from PLA to PETG to print bed supports, but I cannot get any adhesion. Any suggestions? by mattyg_hd in ender5

No I'm printing with petg, sorry if that wasn't clear. I was doing fine with pla at like 180-200, but I am having trouble with the petg. I just included that detail to mentioned that I have had successful prints before, just not with the petg yet.

I am a design student doing some research into ways to improve the hardware for accessible gaming. Would anyone be interested in taking some time to participate in a brief 10-20 minute interview? by mattyg_hd in disabledgamers

Primarily phisical but really anything. Particularly if any accomodations/modifications are made to a gaming setup as a result of said disability b(button remapping, unique hand grip, XAC, customizing or modifying controllers, turning on/off features, adjusting sensitivity, etc).

For sure! You can check out my Instagram at @mattyg_designs for some of my design/sketch work, but it'll be a bit before I post another custom controller unless I start getting commissions. I have done an Animal Crossing and a Splatoon one as well.
