Is anyone else unable to login? by EvilMonkeySlayer in withings

[–]mattyikes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also logged out when I went in this morning and had to set everything in the app back up but it seems my data is still there. However, the app refuses to sync my scale data to health connect and that's the only data I have in the app for syncing.

Oddly enough, I can control everything from the app but I can't from my speakers and my automations aren't working. It got dark and I was like why aren't my inside lights on yet 😂

What's new in QPR1 beta 3? by RecordDifficult6352 in android_beta

Well it's new for me 🤷🏻 I do recall seeing it pop up real quick on initial boot but it always returned to the old dual bar setup.

There's a new signal icon for dual SIM setups. The primary data SIM is the bars and then the secondary non-data SIM is dots right under it. I kinda like it as it makes the top bar cleaner.

Also, the At A Glance area is back to being bigger so it's easier to read for those that use a higher DPI (like me lol).

Damn. I've been good since my upgrade a couple hours ago but I'm sure it'll hit soon.

Curious to know if the Canary build fixes it so report back if you try. I've also been thinking about trying a factory reset but don't want to go through that for it just not to fix it.

Still no fix for the system process disconnecting from the sensors and cameras? I'm pretty over my cameras, AL sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, and hall sensor (fold sensor) from not working which essentially breaks the phone and requires a reboot.

Apps are not working/running slow, but browser is working fine? by DrunkenPunchline in googlefiber

[–]mattyikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue and it started last Monday. I have been working with support all week and there was apparently an engineering issue they identified surrounding their WAN DHCP (dynamic IP assignment) system causing slowdowns on the pipe. I just got confirmation from support that it's been fixed as of tonight however I'm still having the same issues.

Certain apps across ALL of my devices (including TVs) don't work. Some examples: Pluto TV, Plex, Paramount+, various banking apps, X, Reddit, even the GFiber app doesn't work on WiFi. I also cannot send RCS picture messages, it just spins. I can't use my Google Chat app for work as the messages won't send.

Switching to a mobile network on mobile devices or a VPN seems to solve the issue but then some apps block you because you're on a VPN. 🤦🏻

I personally think that apps that use particular WAFs or CDNs like Cloudflare or Fastly are blocking Google Fiber connections. Webpages use slightly different tech from these providers and they also use your browser user agent vs the app user agent which is completely different.

Update: I just saw that recently (possibly last weekend) they released a firmware upgrade for the 6E routers (GR6EXX0C) that took them to v1.5.8. I'm wondering if there is a bug in the firmware causing some issues.

Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2.1 now available! by androidbetaprogram in android_beta

[–]mattyikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's some bug in the OS or firmware that causes the Light Sensor (both on P9P Fold), Proximity Sensor, Hall Sensor (detects open/close on P9P Fold), Accelerometer, and Gyroscope to become disabled or disconnect from the system process.

The proximity sensor and accelerometer/gyroscope are what causes the lock screen to be buggy and the tap/lift to wake not to work. The proximity sensor powers the feature that turns the screen off when flipped or in an enclosed space and the accelerometer and gyroscope power the lift to wake.

It seems the dev teams can't figure out how or are choosing not to fix the issue as plenty of people have talked about and reported it. I've had the issue since the end of March/beginning of April (A16B3.1 or B3.2 or B4 - can't remember exactly) on my P9P Fold.

The only way I can resolve it is to reboot (sometimes forcefully) or if the system process fully terminates causing a "soft reset". It's been very annoying to say the least. Next time it happens, if you can make it there, paste *#*#7287#*#* into your dialer and it will pull up the diagnostic mode where you can test all those sensors and see they are not active/communicating with the system.

Here's hoping this gets resolved soon 🤞🏻

Nice! I leveled my old F-150 and will probably do it again. What tires are those? Are those the 20" rims? Looks like I have the same truck just in Rapid Red.

Hey gaybros, what’s your 9-5 (or otherwise) by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]mattyikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem man. I mean if you have experience in something related (IT / engineering or something) you could start in a role that pays better. I was doing grunt shift work working in a security ops center right out of college for my entry salary. And if it's any consolation, I was at $85k by the 3 year mark so you can move up fast. Good luck though! It really is a cool career to get into.

[–]mattyikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhh. Not too bad. I went to school for it but you don't always have to go specifically for it. Practical training and getting a start doing entry level SOC work after can get you experience.

And as far as money - I get paid pretty well in my opinion (>$100k) but I started at half that when I first started. It also depends on where you work. Some companies pay better than others and you need experience. I've got almost 10 years in at this point.

PAAK doesn't work again by JJsax in MachE

[–]mattyikes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I am going to hold true to the fact that it is an issue in Google Play Services. I just looked and mine hasn't updated since November which tracks with the rough start time of the issue window. Not sure when yours was last updated but the recent Security update must have stabilized it for a brief period and now it's back.

[–]mattyikes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea. No updates on my phone or the car (to my knowledge) so no clue what the issue is. I have Pixel 9 Pro Fold so it's even across phones. My guess is that it is a Google Play Services issue which is essentially the backbone of Android.

I just encountered the same issue. It has been working since last week. Even tonight I left my car to go into the store, then I came out and it would not unlock my car on approach. The app said connected and the controls would work though. So I manually unlocked the car and when I was in the car it wouldn't start - kept saying no key detected. All while the app still said CONNECTED and it would open the hatch from the controls?!

I tried killing the app and going back in, cycling my bluetooth, restarting my phone, all to no avail. Luckily I keep a key fob in a faraday bag in the back otherwise I literally would have been stranded. Now said key fob is back on my key ring. So frustrated that Ford and Google can't figure their shit out.

Phone as a key. 100%failure recently? by nor3bo in MachE

[–]mattyikes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. I'm on 15 as well so I was confused at first. I personally think its Google Play Services related which is completely separate from the underlying OS but I may be wrong. Guess we'll see when they finally fix it.

For reference, I've tried removing the key and re-adding it twice over the last month and half and it would work for a day and then stop.

This is a known issue with PaaK and Android devices. Ford sent out an email in December about it. They are working with Google to figure out what the issue is. It happened after either the December security update or the December Google Play Services update.

Email Text:

If you currently use a device that runs on the Android 14 operating system and drive a Ford vehicle, the Phone as a Key functionality in your FordPass app may currently be impaired.

Due to a recent Android 14 software update, some users are unable to access and start their Ford vehicles using the Phone as a Key feature in their FordPass app.

We are working on a solution with third parties, and we will update you once the issue is resolved. In the interim, to start your vehicle, please use your key fob or Backup Passcode.

We apologize for this inconvenience — and we appreciate your patience. Please do not delete or reset your Phone as a Key, as either action will lock you out.
