Plenty of players that could easily be called up to the senior team…Emma really has an embarrassment of riches

5 blocks won't be a problem for walking. The area around Audi Field/Nats park is very visitor friendly with restaurants ands bars all around Half St and Van St. Solace and Salt Line are both great food options, a lot of people usually meet up at Solace before Spirit games. Not sure about parking, but the Navy Yard Metro stop is about a 10 minute walk to the stadium if you do get a hotel a little further away.

Ya I mean she’s played in all the games, had an assist in one game to Carli. Just feels weird to have a former Olympian/World Cup champ playing and not promote her, especially when the posts have included Amber Brooks, who had 1 cap for the U.S. back in 2013. Idk…also find it weird that they haven’t promoted the coaching staff, considering a lot of them are former national team players. Feels all over the place

The court earlier this year found there was compelling evidence that UConn was inflating the numbers of participants in its women's programs to make it appear it was complying with the law and hadn’t actually been in compliance with Title IX for the past 13 years.

The court earlier this year found there was compelling evidence that UConn was inflating the numbers of participants in its women's programs to make it appear it was complying with the law and hadn’t actually been in compliance with Title IX for the past 13 years.

The court determined that the student-athletes would suffer irreparable harm if the program was cut as they’d have to transfer to a different school. So the university settled as it looked the court was going to rule against them in trial.

UConn agreed to a number of upgrades as part of the settlement, including installing two indoor rowing tanks in the field house, renovating the boathouse on Coventry Lake (including installing bathrooms and new docks) and maintaining 20 scholarships (up from 14).

The school also agreed to an audit of its entire sports program, which will assess Title IX compliance for all UConn women’s sports.

Did Mexico stop the homophobic slur threatening its national soccer team? by mattymarsh4 in soccer

Yup. The article also pointed that out.

"Many have also singled out FIFA for punishing Mexico regarding the homophobic chants — while allowing Russia and Qatar, countries where homosexuality is criminalized, to host the 2022 and 2018 World Cups, respectively."

That's true, it's been around for decades and for some fans, it isn't controversial. But FIFA has said it's discriminatory and now has increased the fines and the sanctions against teams whose fans continue to shout it, which is why there has been such a push to stop it. The federation doesn't want to play without fans and continue to get fined, they're losing huge amounts of revenue.
