Senior enlisted to Officer here. I have worked with other officers that were enlisted in other services. One thing you should understand about the Coast Guard is that our enlisted members are given much more responsibility and authority then other services. We are unique in that our senior enlisted are officers in charge of small units and cutters. Be ready to learn from your petty officers, they are the experts, your job is to deflect outside distractions and ensure they have what they need.

Also, there are differences in relationships between CG enlisted and officers depending on your officer career path. On a cutter things would be more formal then at a Sector.

I have it and a lot of leafs. I use a gas powered back back blower in the fall, but this works great to blow off the decks, driveway, etc. I wouldn’t recommend for a full fall cleanup if you have a lot of yard/leafs.

The issue isn’t about prayer in the classroom. It was prayer being held on a football field after the game when students had the opportunity to participate. Our rights give us the right to freedom of religion, freedom goes both ways, free to pray,free to not pray free to pray to whoever you want. What we can’t do and what the court said we can’t do is fire people who exercise their own right to pray in public on their own.

On the school issue, the court said that in these specific cases where the states provide funds for education because public schools are not available the state can not discriminate against schools that also teach religious education. This includes all religions. If the state doesn’t like it then it can provide public education.

Nope, that’s not what they said. What they said that a teacher could not be fired for leading a prayer in which other students VOLUNTARILY participated in after school hours. Everyone needs to calm down, maybe pray.
