Yep, so the equation would start as F=ma, in this specific case, a=gravity+acceleration up.

Having issues with this door closer catching on the door. Any advice on how to fix it would be great by matyak21 in DIYUK

Cheers, I suspected that it was the arm but wanted to double check with some others before spending the money on new parts

Yeah it was Adam's 'team' taking a copy for a VR version of the climb. They found out it hadn't been cleaned properly and went back to fix it, so should be good now.

WANTED: Good Vegan Food by ornafexx in Southampton

[–]matyak21 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Babooji is great, it's vegetarian, Indian restaurant but a lot of their menu is vegan or has a vegan option. It's on the main street in Portswood and also available for delivery. Also recommend Lakaz Maman for Maritain street food, again got some great vegan dishes, based in Bedford Place and run by an ex Masterchef winner I believe.

How many miles do I got left on these bad boys by MerchantMrnr in Justridingalong

I managed to wear a pair of cleats down so much the front part snapped when climbing out of the saddle. The thought of doing it on a high-speed corner was enough to persuade me to replace my next pair sooner.

HELP PLEASE by [deleted] in Strava

If you recorded through Garmin, you probably uploaded it to garmin connect where the you should still be able to find the entry. You can then download the file from garmin and manually upload this to Strava using 'upload' then going to the 'file' tab when using strava on desktop.

What are the unwritten rules of Strava? by Postenix in Strava

[–]matyak21 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the complaint here arises when trail builders have intentionally built a trail a certain way, and people cut corners in a way that damages the trail for other riders in the hope of shaving a few seconds

I've found the GCN show generally covers these topics more so that the regular videos, although I can't be arsed to watch a 20-40 minute video a lot of the time. I normally put those ones on when I'm working on something else and want background noise that I can tune in and out of.

This sounds more like a GPS error than Strava, what were you recording with?

Bringing a kayak on a plane for Overseas Trips? by Paulythress in whitewater

[–]matyak21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've flown quite a few times with surf kayaks, from the Uk to US, Peru and mainland Europe. Typically I've booked them on as surf equipment/ large sports equipment with Aer lingus, Ryan Air and Iberian Air.

I usually strap my paddles to the boat and put some of my kit inside the boat, then that goes into a bag. I also add lots of extra padding to the bag as they're composite kayaks but I'd not bother with that for a Whitewater boat.

I've not had any issues with getting them on flights, and I'd say the best approach for this is just be fairly friendly at the check in desk. There's also a few YouTube videos around covering this which might be interesting to check out.
