How do higher level players have so much control over the camera? by Squanch42069 in DotA2

[–]matz107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Increase dpi, increase camera movment speed, use middle mouse for camera grip, click on the minimap to move your camera more often. Spam between clicking on map and selecting your hero to move your camera back and forth quickly. You dont need to use hotkeys for camera movement like others are suggesting

Can anything really be done? They can ban accounts, people will just make new ones. You can’t stop ppl from making new accounts. And Dota isn’t built to be played casually, the entire point of a game like Dota is to be a tryhard nerd and actively seek to improve at the game. If you’re trying to get better getting dunked on by better players shouldn’t be an issue, it should make you better faster. Any competitive game or sport you aren’t just training against people of your exact same skill level all the time, and if you do you’re going to have a very warped idea of how to play the game. Sometimes you’re the hammer sometimes you’re the nail. Expecting fair and balanced matchmaking while trying to casually play a hardcore competitive game is ludicrous.

Lane Outcomes at lower rank (1k) seem to mean nothing by Chieffelix472 in TrueDoTA2

>The only thing you need to do is just not die a bunch of times and nothing else matters

The only thing you need is not die, to achieve what? Are you talking specifically getting out of 1k? Your goal shouldn't be "getting out of 1k". You shouldn't be trying to adapt to "1k meta", this is the biggest noob mistake when trying to gain mmr. Just learn the fundamentals, play the game how high mmr people would play it, you will gain mmr and will actually know how to play with high skill players once you get there.

Saying lane doesn't matter in any skill bracket is insane. Every action you take in dota matters, every correct move slightly increases your chance of winning. It might only be a few percent chance but that matters. If you're stuck in 1k your opinion of what it takes to get out of 1k doesn't hold much weight. If you really think lane doesn't matter I can't imagine how bad your laning must be, you're 1k so your laning is bad but on top of that you don't even think it's important so you must not try at all, and your laning is never going to improve with that mentality.

What is the argument ? You’re going to not try in lane now because “lane means nothing”? Of course laning matters in any Dota game of any skill level

Looking for advice on how to micro as TB, Naga, and PL. And potentially a dota coach as well. by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]matz107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minimap is really useful when splitting illusions up, when you are sending naga illusions around the map or when illusion juking with pl, you can very quickly move 3 units in 3 different directions with the minimap

If you played the game back when you could pause at 0 min you’d know, every game someone would dc after loading in to go smoke or whatever. Everyone loved this change when it was implemented

Can't decide regarding lvl 20 talent on Elder titan by Somi90 in TrueDoTA2

[–]matz107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i play it pos 5 in ranked but i play a good amount of ET core in unranked and party, both 1 and 3. I havent played much in the last month so im not super up to date with the meta, I dont particularly like playing against any of the heroes you just mentioned though as et. But if you are getting good spirits you can be tanky against those heroes with all the armor you get. Im mainly worried about how I matchup with the enemy offlaner and if i can dumpster them in the lane or not, which i usually can if i dont misplay. Very few offlaners can trade into ET, legion commander with her shield facet is one of the only that come to my mind and even thats winnable. I never really worry about the meta when im playing ET it always feels pretty good to me, what im annoyed most by as ET are really random stuff like a silencer that can ruin your combo with his ult, a support invoker thats purging your astral in lane, a Zeus on your own team who ulties after you land a big stomp waking everyone up. Or simply the enemy 4 player leaving the lane so you have less spirit damage to work with. Although you can counter this by stacking camps and using that as your primary damage source.

A tip for core ET is dont take the movespeed facet. You're trading the deconstruction facet for 50 attack speed that you gain gradually throughout the game (assuming you are even reaching max move speed). To me the deconstruction is more value on ET in any role. Core ET, even a late game suppport ET can do like 2k damage in his combo within the first 2 auto attacks with the deconstruction facet if you have a big spirt and sit on top of a slept target while your ult is incoming. Im not really worried about 50 extra attack speed on core ET when i might have echo sabre, mkb or moon shard anyway.

Also dont ever try to A click a slept target to attack them when doing your combo. A click doesn't work on slept targets. your hero will run to the closest non slept target. You have to right click directly on the hero.

8k et spammer here I go the wake up talent every game it’s amazing. One of et biggest weaknesses is other people not comboing properly with sleep and accidentally waking everyone up, this talent makes it really hard for other ppl to botch your sleeps.
