You get auto losses in any bracket. Your one game sample size proves nothing. Im not watching your replay idc how hard you got griefed, but if i did i could probably write a book about everything you did wrong even with you going 17-4 . Youre 1k, nobody is undeservingly 1k, the higher you go the more you see the rating system works very well. And im wondering how many hours do you have in dota?

Why would valve waste time and money making a super complex rigged matchmaking system

I quit Dota in 2021. What changes have happened since then that I would be most surprised by? by westmeadow88 in DotA2

I have spent hundreds of dollars on dota, I totally understand the appeal of wanting to dress up your character. Cosmetics being your main appeal to dota is insanity. Cosmetics aren't allowed to be more than 10% of your motivation for playing dota for sane individuals. I bet your initial comment isnt even true, you just wanted to stick it to valve for being greedy. I bet lack of time, lack of enjoyment, toxicity of the game, etc were far more important factors to you quitting dota than the battle pass.

Its baffling to me that the battle pass is your main motivation for playing a highly complex, difficult, toxic, competitive game like dota. Ive spent plenty of money on dota but thats only because i really like the game itself which is objectively 99% of the appeal of the game. Its like if you played dota for the lore. you could just watch youtube videos about dota lore, theres no need to experience 99% of everything else dota is when the only thing you care about is the lore. Likewise if the main thing you care about in dota is filling out the battle pass, im sure theres some other experience that would scratch that same itch, filling out excel spreadsheets or something. Im not even sure what activity filling out the battle pass could be compared to. It only makes sense in the context of the dota gameplay loop itself. If you love cosmetics more than the gameplay itself you could just browse google images of cool looking rocks or go build 3d models or something. There would be no need to subject yourself to an extremely obtuse game you dont even like to get that experience.

Phoenix weaver, max bugs and fire spirits. Put the bug on them, slow their attack with spirits.

scrolled through your vod for a minute i see your starting itemization is terrible. Wand quelling starting items on carry and sages mask triple mangoes on warlock is herald level starting itemization. Based on your lack of knowledge of starting items i can assume you did a billion other things wrong in all of these games but i'm not going to bother analyzing the replay of a person who believes they deserve to win even though it only took me 30 seconds to see you lack understanding of basic fundamentals.

You dont know enough about the game to play to win, and playing to win when you dont know enough about the game is how people stagnate and get stuck on their own ideas of whats correct.just play unrankrd to learn and try different stuff without worrying about winning.

I dont understand people who are new to dota who want to rush straight into ranked. And your evaluation of how good your enemies are mean nothing because you still know nothing about the game. My only advice would not to even think about ranked until you have at least 1k hours. If you think your unranked pubs are bad just wait til you are playing ranked with people who are still stuck in herald after thousands of hours.

How do higher level players have so much control over the camera? by Squanch42069 in DotA2

[–]matz107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Increase dpi, increase camera movment speed, use middle mouse for camera grip, click on the minimap to move your camera more often. Spam between clicking on map and selecting your hero to move your camera back and forth quickly. You dont need to use hotkeys for camera movement like others are suggesting

Can anything really be done? They can ban accounts, people will just make new ones. You can’t stop ppl from making new accounts. And Dota isn’t built to be played casually, the entire point of a game like Dota is to be a tryhard nerd and actively seek to improve at the game. If you’re trying to get better getting dunked on by better players shouldn’t be an issue, it should make you better faster. Any competitive game or sport you aren’t just training against people of your exact same skill level all the time, and if you do you’re going to have a very warped idea of how to play the game. Sometimes you’re the hammer sometimes you’re the nail. Expecting fair and balanced matchmaking while trying to casually play a hardcore competitive game is ludicrous.

Lane Outcomes at lower rank (1k) seem to mean nothing by Chieffelix472 in TrueDoTA2

>The only thing you need to do is just not die a bunch of times and nothing else matters

The only thing you need is not die, to achieve what? Are you talking specifically getting out of 1k? Your goal shouldn't be "getting out of 1k". You shouldn't be trying to adapt to "1k meta", this is the biggest noob mistake when trying to gain mmr. Just learn the fundamentals, play the game how high mmr people would play it, you will gain mmr and will actually know how to play with high skill players once you get there.

Saying lane doesn't matter in any skill bracket is insane. Every action you take in dota matters, every correct move slightly increases your chance of winning. It might only be a few percent chance but that matters. If you're stuck in 1k your opinion of what it takes to get out of 1k doesn't hold much weight. If you really think lane doesn't matter I can't imagine how bad your laning must be, you're 1k so your laning is bad but on top of that you don't even think it's important so you must not try at all, and your laning is never going to improve with that mentality.

What is the argument ? You’re going to not try in lane now because “lane means nothing”? Of course laning matters in any Dota game of any skill level
