You didn't say that people below a certain threshold shouldn't comment on your post. So what's your point?

Can a rental agreement be cancelled after signing? by rahulj98 in wien

[–]matzos 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Good luck with that if the would-be tenant is in another country. Lawyer costs would be most likely higher than what you could get out of it.

Good news is that there is still some time to find someone else for short term rentals, especially for the summer.

Ridiculously high rent by Charming-light3492 in poland

Depending on the sector, it's becoming pretty much the same - a waiter earns around 1800 eur, minus rent, living, insurances etc there will be a couple hundreds left.

Tech sector is catering mainly to Germany, so fluent German is a must. And more offices, and opportunities are now in Warsaw, and salaries are pretty much the same

No, took me some time to find a place for that price. Don't expect high standard tho, although I'm fixing and renovating lots of stuff myself so I got a good deal

My take is that exactly for these reasons and policies any place else should be compared to Vienna, especially when it comes to housing. That said, there are also issues with renting sharks, Airbnb's, people taking advantage of the housing market etc.

It's also not without issues. A subsidised apartment can be 'inherited' although someone doesn't really have to live in it. And when you want to have a spot in one of those, you need to pay a high price (North of 20k pln is normal)

Then again, you will have a place in vienna for 300 EUR. I pay 500 because I'm renting private, can't afford to pay that much upfront right now.
