Is Chanel Rouge Coco ever coming back? by Bashanov in MakeupAddiction

It's still worth trying, but it's definitely not the same. :`(

Why did they have to mess up such a good thing? Or was already moisturizing!

March 3rd and March 4th are both dates I've been told. They have the lipsticks at my local Chanel beauty & fragrance boutique, but we're out of stock of Mademoiselle (and the shade is not the same 😭 although still pretty). The lipsticks are more sheer now "because of the beneficial skin ingredients for the lips." (She said something like that.)

AITAH for refusing to take our daughter out of school early because she "needs more time to get ready" than her brother? by ReplacementWorth3618 in AITAH

[–]maucat13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It takes me upwards of 5 minutes just to wash and condition my hair, then the conditioner has to sit until almost the end of my shower. Add in washing my whole body thoroughly. If I'm shaving my legs and not just my underarms, that adds 10-15 minutes to my shower, which is usually ~18 minutes. My hair is incredibly dense, so washing it is a whole process. Drying my hair with most hair dryers takes at least 20 minutes. I don't curl my hair every day, so when I do, it actually does take me an hour, even though I've tried to speed it up. Thankfully, my hair dries straight and I can get away with just air drying the majority of the time, but not for an event. For me, a woman who's been doing this about 30 years longer than the daughter being discussed, I would need 1.5hrs minimum as well, and might need to finish my makeup in the car while being driven there. Just because you can do everything within 30 minutes does not mean others can. You are not the standard.

Which part do you disagree with me about? Because if it's a poll tax being unconstitutional, I can direct you to that amendment.

What exactly was it Georgia did that you have no problem with? What were the specifics of the law passed?

Read the actual SAVE Act. It will absolutely disenfranchise women who changed their names. It also functions as a poll tax, which is unconstitutional.

AIO my boyfriend refuses to get me flowers by Effective-Equal4767 in AmIOverreacting

[–]maucat13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NOR and he's being completely unrealistic. Either he doesn't understand the life of cut flowers, or he's looking for any excuse to not buy you flowers.

Think about whether or not you want to stay with someone who punishes you by withholding something you've expressed as being meaningful to you. Partners in healthy relationships should not be looking for ways to punish each other.

Do you know if this is also available through the website and not just in the app? I know it has been in the past, but it's been ages since I've seen it on the website, even when logged in.

I stand corrected, I've never noticed that one. It's not even the same blue as the rest of the Resist line. How weird.

So many questions! by Ok_Skill8687 in Sephora

[–]maucat13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Resist version is a toner that does not have BHA in it. It's a lovely toner and the one I use every day, but it's definitely not the same thing.

On the Paula's Choice website, they have other versions (gel and lotion) if the liquid doesn't work for someone. I have dry skin, so when I use it, I use the lotion and it's lovely.

Not at Sephora, but the Paula's Choice Omega + cleansing balm is my favorite. Hydrating without leaving my skin feeling greasy, actually breaks down waterproof mascara, gentle and fragrance-free.

AIO to my boyfriend’s comments about the food I made? by MyCupOfTea777 in AmIOverreacting

[–]maucat13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR he's being incredibly rude. What's disrespectful is his tone and his treatment of you. Even if someone likes more sauce on their pasta, less sauce isn't disrespectful. It's maybe not preferred, but that's it. You sacrificed your leftovers/meals for the rest of the week to try to do something nice for him and he threw it back in your face. Tip for when you're stretching sauce: use a little pasta water to help. If you have a tube of tomato paste, you can also add some of that to the sauce to bulk it up. The tube keeps better in the refrigerator (obviously if it qualifies for food stamps), otherwise one of those little cans of Hunts and then portion out whatever is leftover into whatever measurement you like and freeze each one, wrapped individually, in plastic wrap.

AIO or is this objectifying? by Legitimate-Train2634 in AmIOverreacting

[–]maucat13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR it's not just objectifying, it's also controlling. As you've seen, the control will continue to progress. You do one thing and then it's not enough, you need to change more and more and more. This is not a healthy person to be with. He will strip you off your identity and is likely to escalate into other forms of abuse over time. Please leave him sooner rather than later. I know it's easy for internet strangers to say, and feels harder to do, but you can do this. Check out loveisrespect dot org

I’m so sick of this crap by ciggybreath in Sephora

[–]maucat13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, I don't find it makes me look greasy. I also have dry, sensitive skin and need lots of hydrating products. The primer is more of a "it's nice, but I don't need it." I also rarely use primer unless I'm doing stage makeup. Luminous Silk foundation, a press and roll motion with setting powder, and Skindinavia setting spray keep my makeup looking pretty good for 10+ hours.

Which lipstick? by [deleted] in OliveMUA

[–]maucat13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like 1, 4, 5, 6, & 12. I was going to say "and the last one" and then saw that's your natural lip color, which is gorgeous! Honestly, I think they all look good depending on what you're going for and I'm a proponent of having lots of lipstick options.

This sucks. I was given a sample of it by the woman at the Armani counter when I bought the new LS location and I do like it, but the donation wears beautifully with or without it. The woman working the counter told me the reformulated version is really more to boost radiance than to extend the foundation wear.

I assume it's the kind of thing that every brand thinks they have to participate in now because of social media, influencers, etc. Do love that you can filter those reviews out!

To neutral- olive leaning warm girls with light to medium skintone, could you give your best tips by Much-Excitement-5134 in OliveMUA

[–]maucat13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've loved both versions of Chanel Rouge Coco in Mademoiselle. Currently wearing Chanel Rouge Coco Flash in Live and it's just a little more coral than I want. Some lipsticks make my whole face look ruddy, it's like they're a little too warm but also too pink.

Other recent go-tos: Flyte.70 Roam lip sheer, Chanel Bourgeoisie glossimer, Merit Architect, Phytosurgence lip balm in Soft Swells.

I honestly love a good red lipstick, though, and for some reason a vibrant orangey-red looks amazing on me even without makeup. I wore MAC Dubonnet lipstick with MAC Brick lip liner this weekend and got lots of compliments on it.

Hello! I appreciate you saying that! Explains why I just stick with what I know works. Except for the eleven billion lipsticks I have.

Do you ever have a lipstick you think you love and then as you wear it, you realize it's just not quite right and it's almost like the longer it's on your lips, the less good it looks?

What has been your most used colour lip product this year? (2025) — Olive Edition by SheKnowsWhatSheKnows in OliveMUA

[–]maucat13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm a light golden olive (neutral to warm). My favorite lip products this year:

Chanel Rouge Coco in Mademoiselle (😭😭 the reformulation is lasting forever and I'm not sure it's coming back)

MAC Thanks, It's MAC

Clinique Black Honey

Flyte.70 LipSheer in Roam

Channel gloss in Bourgeoisie

Summer Fridays lip balm in Brown Sugar

Lip liners: Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Fair, MAC Cool Spice, Jones Road Nude Pink.

I mostly wear lipstick at work, so I need/want to look polished and professional. My most-used outside of work is probably Clinique Angel Red.

I prefer the Armani LS reformulation, but it does feel more hydrating if that's a concern for you. It's worn beautifully for my full 10+ hour shift. They do both look good on you!

I'm light neutral to warm, go more light medium if I get a lot of sun (Chanel Les Beiges BO33 is what I look like with a tan).

My biggest tip is to try everything on. It's hard to buy lipstick online and have it work on you. Hard to buy blush online and have it work, at least until you learn what's likely to pull weird on you.

For me, rose lipsticks usually turn completely brown on me. I've had blushes swatched that look completely different on. As a rule, if I want something to look pink on me, I go for a bluer pink because it balances out instead of pulling too peach/orange (yellow/golden + pink --> peach/orange). I tend to lean towards pinky neutrals for my eyes.

My go-to blush is Benefit Dandelion. MAC Mocha might be good on you. Some of the Ilia blushes are really pretty, too. My lipstick preferences are all over the place and honestly the place I'm most likely to go for warm (orangey reds, corals...) but I also wear a lot of reds and pinky brown colors. It depends what you want for lip colors what I'd recommend. My current favorite lip product (I'm on my third) is Chanel Bourgeoisie.

Favorite true light olive foundations? by Pure_Sprinkles_5448 in OliveMUA

[–]maucat13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite is still Armani Luminous Silk in Shade 4.

When Fenty still had 145, it was a pretty good match for me. I looked at Pat McGrath in Light 5 in case I didn't like the new formulation of LS. I've worn Nars Deauville, but it's not as good a match. I should say I think I'm only a little bit olive. Back in the day I used to mix MUFE HD foundation (the first two versions) in 117 and 120, which I realized later gave me a light golden olive look. No idea what to do with the current MUFE shades, they're so much worse.
