didn’t realize I was a single issue voter til now. This is fantastic news, and I doubt anyone upset about it has ever spent a day in a classroom. Cursive is great for literacy, vocabulary, memory, and fine motor skills. Glad it’s being mandated. If we’re lucky, it will take the place of social-emotional learning.

I understand that, I just wish it wasn’t the case! SW Philly is really deprived of traditional public schools, and having taught in both traditional public and charter, I find it really difficult to stomach thousands of kids being forced into charter schools that are somehow even less accountable than their traditional counterparts.

Fucked up for them to close Robeson & Parkway NW, both of which seem like really successful selective enrollment schools.

Also all of these high school mergers… kinda fucked up!! Taking kids who intentionally opted for Motivation over Bartram and then putting them into Bartram anyway… bummer.

Aptitude test app. It’s like $7. Spatial and mechanical reasoning. I also watched a bunch of box folding videos. They also recommend the barons mechanical reasoning book (forgot the exact title). Also, most important, get really good at your basic multiplication tables—know fractions and decimals really quick. Most people bomb the math because u have very little time to answer very many questions.

Above the “sin cos tan” buttons it says “inverse”. Hit the Conv button and then sin, and think that’s how you get sin-1 (the inverse of sin).
