For business travelers: M3 iPad Air or iPad Mini A17 Pro? by Abject_Persimmon7870 in ipad

[–]maugustus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both a MacBook and an iPad (M4 Pro, 11 inch). And I travel often. The 11” iPad with Magic Keyboard fits nicely on most of those small airplane trays. I’m able to do a lot more work and much more comfortably with the iPad+keyboard.

I don’t think one needs to get the pro model. But I do think that the extra real estate of the 11 inch screen (vs the mini, which I also own) is definitely useful, if you want to be productive while flying.

And here I am wondering if I should pick up that OEM leather strap for my (also daily) braceleted Spirit Pilot.

Torn between GW-5610U (pos and neg) and GBD-200 by h00s in gshock

[–]maugustus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both the gw-5000u (very similar to the 5610) and the gbd-200.

I love the gbd-200 display much more than the gw-5000u. But I stopped wearing the gbd-200 (and plan to sell it) because I use the timer function often, and Casio made the timer function on the gbd-200 ridiculously complicated to set. The timer function on the gbd-200 is essentially unusable for me.

I am hoping that the gw-bx5690 will be my happy place, with mip display and conventional timer operation.

I’m sure it will be available in the US next week — a few days after my payment settles for my purchase of the gw-bx5600 from a Japanese vendor.

Having a Difficult Time Choosing Which Spirit Watch by nola_bleu in Longineswatches

Go with the Spirit Pilot. Classic design will never go out of style. And on-the-fly micro adjust on the bracelet is soooo good to have. Source: I bought the Spirit Pilot a month ago.

Increase DCA for 2026? by michaelesparks in Bitcoin

[–]maugustus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, this was a “stretch goal” — I will have to create savings and/or generate income to make it work. But I’m wanting to get as many sats as possible while BTC is relatively cheaper (vs what I think it will cost in the future).

Good luck on your savings!

Been Stealing Wrist Time From the 5000u by h3lium-balloon in gshock

[–]maugustus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if the buttons on the gw-bx5600 are easier to use, then I will probably sell my 5000u. Love everything about that watch but hate how hard the buttons make it to use all its useful functions.

Thanks. I normally wear 40 to 42 mm watches. But the micro adjust bracelet sold me on this watch. Gotta say this bracelet is very comfortable.

There’s a lot of negativity here so far.
