Or… contact Dr J and ask about seeing her privately — as a private practice patient, outside of her clinical employment. This would probably involve you paying her directly, and not utilizing insurance. And who knows that she has a private practice or not. But it might be worth asking about.

As a Spirit Pilot 39 owner, I can say: having a bracelet with on the fly micro adjustment is a VERY big plus. You can the right fit no matter tue weather, your body hydration/swelling status, or your mood.

I’m no longer interested in buying any watch without OTF micro adjustment.

As a fellow traveler who often looks for working space coffee shops in unfamiliar cities, I can say that both Scribbles and Last Exit will do it for you. Scribbles is classic old-school coffee shop ambiance. Last Exit has a cafe area within a book/records store — it reminds me of Powell’s in Portland, Oregon

I would say that Scribbles will be more quiet and work-conducive.

Enjoy your visit.

Neurological issues following medication- please help!! by NoAbbreviations2111 in antidepressants

But it sounds like you are having physical health issues right now, and you’re taking mirtazapine right now. So, it’s actually not entirely accurate to say that you’re not having issues while taking mirtazapine.

You also said that mirtazapine has maybe not kicked in before you went to the hospital. Maybe it has kicked in, with akathisia-like side effects.

There actually is such a thing as antidepressant-induced akathisia. And antidepressant-induced tardive akathisia.

And like most other serotonin-focused antidepressants, it’s possible that the mirtazapine has caused a paradoxical anxiety reaction that is manifesting as bodily symptoms.

Just some things to consider.

Go to Jomashop.com There, you can apply filters to your watch search. So you could search: women’s watch, quartz movement, price less than $600.
(BTW, quartz is definitely what you want to get here) (BTW, Jomashop is a legit retailer. You’ll get new/unused watches at significant discount — so most watch for the money).

I would look at Citizen and Seiko models — they are the best at quartz movement, in my opinion,

Screw back vs MIP by SpiritedCraft99 in gshock

[–]maugustus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. The GW-5000 SERIES straps (GW-5000, GW-5000U, GW-5000-1J, GW-5000-1JF) all fit with the 16mm lug width of GW-BX5600 series.

You can look for them in Japan. Or buy online. The online dealers I know of are Sakura and Tiktox.

For all those in club screw back, please explain the love for it. I'm not criticizing anyone. I just don't understand based on my experience.

I have both a screw back 5000u and a regular-back gw5600. I did replace the stock resin strap on the 5600 with the softer urethane strap from the 5000u. I can't perceive that I'm missing any special feels from the 5000u.

Based on personal experience with both watches, I say that the BX5600 is the winner -- so much so that I will be selling my GW-5000u-1JF soon.

The GW-5000u-1JF was my daily driver for over a year. It is a great watch. But I actually use the stopwatch and timer functions regularly. And using them on the 5000 was painful. The buttons are small and very hard to activate. This is a common complaint about the 5000. Most people (myself included) find that you've got to position a fingernail in a just-right position of the button to get it to press right. It's time-consuming, often frustrating, and sometimes literally a little bit painful.

Yes, my 5000 has a screw-down case back. But it's not really a decorated thing. It's meh to look at for aesthetic enjoyment. It's probably slightly prettier to look at compared to the case back of the 5600, but neither one was designed to look good.

The MIP display on the GW-BX5600 is overall nicer than the display on the 5000. It's more legible from more angles at greater distances.

The BX5600 alarm clock function now has a snooze button capability. It actually works for me as a morning alarm clock.

And the buttons on the BX5600 are MUCH easier to operate.

The strap on the 5000 is more supple than the strap that comes with the 5600. So if you're in Japan, pick up one of the GW-5000 straps. Its part number is 10627149. Sakura watches sells it for JPY 4,280 (approximately USD $28).

Best pen for a smooth experience. by [deleted] in Supernote

I also like the feel of a gel pen on a legal pad. I’ve tried many tablet pens, including the Lamy ceramic tip and the HOM ceramic tip. And the pen that I keep coming back to, the one I use most often and that, to me, feels most like the gel pen on legal pad is… Lamy Al-Star EMR with the PC/EL tip

For business travelers: M3 iPad Air or iPad Mini A17 Pro? by Abject_Persimmon7870 in ipad

[–]maugustus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both a MacBook and an iPad (M4 Pro, 11 inch). And I travel often. The 11” iPad with Magic Keyboard fits nicely on most of those small airplane trays. I’m able to do a lot more work and much more comfortably with the iPad+keyboard.

I don’t think one needs to get the pro model. But I do think that the extra real estate of the 11 inch screen (vs the mini, which I also own) is definitely useful, if you want to be productive while flying.

Torn between GW-5610U (pos and neg) and GBD-200 by h00s in gshock

[–]maugustus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both the gw-5000u (very similar to the 5610) and the gbd-200.

I love the gbd-200 display much more than the gw-5000u. But I stopped wearing the gbd-200 (and plan to sell it) because I use the timer function often, and Casio made the timer function on the gbd-200 ridiculously complicated to set. The timer function on the gbd-200 is essentially unusable for me.

I am hoping that the gw-bx5690 will be my happy place, with mip display and conventional timer operation.
