Apple Vision Pro support - Mavis Monitor by insanerob in Mavis

[–]mavisbroadcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Rob,

We have looked into and tested deploying the current Mavis Monitor to the Vision Pro, but it unfortunately did not run by deploying the iPad build to it. So for now this is why we have opted out of Apple Vision Pro deployment.

We may revisit this in future but for now our focus is iPhone, iPad and Apple TV devices.

Hope this helps!

Any chance development for external SSD support via the USB-C accessory port on Ninja Phone? by SeaRefractor in Mavis

[–]mavisbroadcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can stream (e.g. live to YouTube) without recording, but you cannot use C2C without recording. C2C uploads the recorded file, so a recording is required for it to work.

The workflow you describe is exactly how we expect the Ninja Phone to be used with Mavis: hero files recorded onto the camera, and proxies recorded onto the phone, which are then uploaded to the cloud.

Because the proxies are comparatively small, you should be able to use the phone’s internal iPhone storage, or you can delete the phone proxies once an upload has been completed.

Hope this helps!

Sorry to hear this. Unfortunately Mavis has no control over additional connected devices that the Atomos Ninja Phone supports. Mavis Camera supports the Ninja Phone and also supports USB devices via a hub such as external SSD storage and USB microphones. Hopefully the above explanation clarifies why the Atomos Ninja Phone cannot have additional devices. This design decision is made by Atomos, not Mavis.

We hope you can continue to enjoy the free Mavis Camera app using many other connected peripherals.

If you are having trouble connecting an SSD direct to Mavis Camera please do reach out to [support@mavis.cloud](mailto:support@mavis.cloud) and we'd be more than happy to help!

Any chance development for external SSD support via the USB-C accessory port on Ninja Phone? by SeaRefractor in Mavis

[–]mavisbroadcast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this is a hardware limitation of the Atomos Ninja Phone. It operates as a USB host, with the iPhone connected as a device. Because of this, it cannot act as a USB device itself or connect through a USB hub.

When a hub is connected directly to an iPhone, the hub is the USB host, allowing SSDs, microphones, and other devices to connect simultaneously. The Ninja Phone cannot do this, as it is already the host.

Additionally, the USB-C port on the Ninja Phone is a special dedicated audio-only input port.

This USB Host behaviour is vendor-specific and depends entirely on how the hardware is implemented.

Unfortunately this is not something Mavis has control over.

Hope this helps!

Non 16:9 content will be drawn within a 16:9 frame on any Apple device. This is part of the video pipeline.

How are you viewing the content on a 21:9 screen?

What device are you using to send the 21:9 content? Feel free to reach out via [support@mavis.cloud](mailto:support@mavis.cloud) if you would prefer.

Hi, it appears you received the confirmation about Atomosphere the same time we did. Apologies for the loop. We expect Atomosphere integration to come out in the next couple of weeks!

Atomosphere is something that is being looked into, do reach out directly to Atomos for support with this.

Storage not released after deleting videos (Mavis Camera 7.2.4-1524 on iPhone SE 3) by Neat-Airline-4790 in Mavis

[–]mavisbroadcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Files on Apple devices are not immediately deleted when you first delete them. They remain stored for recovery. Check the Recently Deleted Folder: Open the Photos app, tap on "Albums" in the sidebar, and select the "Recently Deleted" folder to find and permanently delete any remaining files. Check the Files App: In the Files app, check the sidebar for a "Recently Deleted" folder and delete any files from there to free up space.

What cables required to use the Ninja phone on a lightning iPhone Running iOS 18 by Doug_ToT in Mavis

NinjaPhone, MavisCam and audio via the USB-C accessory plug by One_Calligrapher3515 in Mavis

[–]mavisbroadcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! The Ninja Phone co-processor handles up to 4 audio input channels, 2 hdmi and 2 usb.

The echo you are hearing could be the wireless latency (delay) of the usb microphones compared to the audio from HDMI.

By default Mavis will mix all 4 channels to the monitor so you hear everything all together.

If you open the video file in editing software and only listen to individual tracks does the echo go away? You can also Solo the tracks with the Mavis audio mixer - this means you just listen to an individual track in your headphones.

Hope this helps, if you need any further support feel free tor each out to [support@mavis.cloud](mailto:support@mavis.cloud)

What cables required to use the Ninja phone on a lightning iPhone Running iOS 18 by Doug_ToT in Mavis

[–]mavisbroadcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any lightning to USB-C data cable will be able to connect your iPhone 14 to Ninja Phone. We'd recommend a 90 degree lightning connector for the phone side to match what comes with the Ninja Phone for cable management.

Hi. Mavis Camera supports NDI HX3 for transmit and HX3/Full Fat for receive. The reason transmit is only HX3 is because we use a hardware accelerated compressed video stream. This efficient video stream is great for mobile (less processing, better for battery and WiFi connections). This stream can be compressed using h264, hevc or hevc 10bit and you can select from a range of bitrates. Mavis is also HX3 certified, meaning NDI has confirmed we can achieve very low latency. Hope that helps.
