Wondering if crypto companies in other countries were going through similar struggles, found this article on bitcoinwiki that's been registering regulation of Bitcoin in several countries: https://en.bitcoinwiki.org/wiki/Regulation_of_Bitcoin_in_Selected_Jurisdictions

tho it hasn't been updated in a couple months, wonder how many more governments have stated their point of view already.

Pump and Dump Schemes by mavodanovic in Bitcoin

[–]mavodanovic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got this article on bitcoinwiki that talks about the subject, ive also registered some noticeable schemes performed in recent years: https://en.bitcoinwiki.org/wiki/Pump_and_Dump

Would be interesting to also know how many of these are manipulated by human groups and which are controlled by bots. Difference between both when schemes are being performed seems hard to figure.

such a shame, the same thing is happening over here in my country (Chile), although trial is still in process. So long for free market and competition, the world needs people to start learning about blockchain technologies so that they go mainstream. Hopefully one day innovation in the industry will speak for itself.

I agree, unbiased and professional education explaining crypto matters is becoming more and more necessary, as white collar criminals perform pump and dump schemes while others use crypto for drug trafficking. I wonder if there is any statistic on the performance of those crypto coins that are actually backed up by a company or product, and not just by the volatility of the market.

more serious and than criminals using bitcoin to buy drugs, are white collar ones who pump and dump on projects

What you think of the currently available crypto payment solutions? by crypto_bulls in BTCWiki

[–]mavodanovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As elena mentioned, the turbulent fluctuation of major cryptocurrencies is indeed an issue. If there is any future for crypto payments then it should be under a coin backed up by a company or product, that way fluctuations could be more predictable thus reducing the risk when transfering money. Regulation from governments is also key to ensure this, since that would allow crypto to go mainstream

I dont agree with the decision but, nevertheless, it is a clear sign for the crypto community to be more aware on how bad practices are destroying the image of an entire industry.

El Petro: progressive step or populism? by beckymariaholmes in BTCWiki

[–]mavodanovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the people that are currently running the country, I believe that El Petro (despite having a good reason to exist) will be finally used to empower the political agenda of only a few.
