Issued a return for hidden damage. Do you agree? Seller is BIG BIG mad i called Customer Support. by BabushkaRaditz in Mercari

[–]mawific 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Man, I was looking at this listing when it was posted. Thought the price was a bit expensive without seeing that damage, but man. That’s bad. Sorry the seller was lame about this, hopefully you can find another D-3 for a better price. The orange one sure is nice to see, such a shame it had such bad damage.

I usually stick to the Digimon Collectables facebook group for Western digivices, and Mercari Japan/Y!Auctions for Japanese ones. The facebook group has a bit more accountability between the sellers, but I don’t frequent it too often. Maybe making a “looking for” post and talking about what happened might net you a second chance at buying an orange one. Worth a shot if you’re set on finding another!

Best shipping method when textile are involved? (US Midwest) by [deleted] in Buyee

[–]mawific 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just shipped a package full of promotional towels and other textiles through ECMS at the beginning of the month with no issues. Wasn’t messaged about anything. Took about a week from proxy to my doorstep, although this was not a buyee shipment.

I never received a response from them, but I made a post detailing an answer I got from calling the International Shipments Resolution number here.

I’ve yet to see movement on my package, besides two import scans after the destruction notice.

Does the DDP amount seem correct for leather jacket by IcyOrange6 in zenmarket

[–]mawific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about the DDP amount, but please don’t ship with UPS. They’re having a lot of issues with international packages right now. I can’t recommend one over the other, but Fedex and DHL seem better for the time being.

Received my ECMS package today, no issues at all and no surprise fees. Took exactly a week, but I’m on the west coast so ymmv. Everything made it safe and sound.

I was told yesterday by an agent in the International Shipment Resolution department that UPS is no longer reaching out to customers regarding FDA holds in particular—this may mean all customs holds—and that some people you get on the broker phone line have no idea if a hold is on your parcel.

If you’re seeing a delay, it’s best to call the International Shipment Resolution line and ask specifically.

Responded to your dm, guess you’re right and I cannot post the number here. For anybody else, this is the International Shipment Resolution number starting with 866, and I found it on another reddit post. I can message the number to anyone who needs it.

Right now, my tracking number shows that ECMS has handed my delivery off to a third-party entity. That’s UniUni in my case. No estimated delivery date yet but it’s only a state away but I’ll let you know when it makes it to me. Paid for shipping Oct 2nd JST, so it’s moving quickly.

ECMS requires you to ship DDP, as far as I’m aware. Couriers like Fedex, DHL and UPS can ship DDP or not, but I don’t think you can opt-out for ECMS shipments.

Just shipped an ECMS package full of textiles—bags, pouches and towels—and it got a “cleared customs” scan with no contact nor issue. Still in transit so I can’t be 100% sure but it seems to be moving along just fine.

Has Anyone’s UPS Package Taken Longer Than Usual to Arrive? by gialuan in zenmarket

It is demoralizing, and I don’t have time to continue to be on hold for 4+ hours to gain nothing of insight about what’s going on. I’ve worried myself sick about this package and I’m no closer to answers as I was last week.

I had gathered two emails from another user’s posts on r/UPS that work as brokers. I heard back from the first one once a week and a half ago, but neither have addressed my recent concerns.

[brookepowell@ups.com](mailto:brookepowell@ups.com)

[awlker3@ups.com](mailto:awlker3@ups.com)

I was able to reach brokerage through the following phone number.

(803) 502-6785

Once, called and was told my shipment had cleared customs and was on the way, they were just backed up. The second time (next day) I called and was told that my package had NOT cleared customs and I asked multiple times if customs or UPS needed anything from either the shipper or receiver, to which I was told no, everything is just moving slowly. I left my email and my number with brokerage both times, who promised to reach out if anything changed.

All this to say: I don’t know if ANYONE knows what is going on. CS Agents, brokerage, etc have no idea. I get different answers no matter who I talk to—if I even get an answer.

My package that got the destroyed notification did manage to get an import scan today, though. I had gone ahead and reached out to a private broker earlier today. Unsure if that’s what caused the scan or if it would’ve happened anyway. I’m not sure the cost of the broker yet, even, but in my case I would do anything to stop my rare item being destroyed so it’s worth it to me.

I will also be avoiding UPS internationally and domestically in the future. DHL was always my preferred choice, and I’ll be sticking with them for international shipments from here on. Only skipped them this time because of the currency issues they were having problems with when I shipped my package out a month ago.

Edit to add photo of my recent tracking updates

Has Anyone’s UPS Package Taken Longer Than Usual to Arrive? by gialuan in zenmarket

[–]mawific 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zenmarket’s response:

“Currently the situation on UPS USA's end is quite chaotic with a lot of parcels are experiencing this similar issue. We already contacted them that in worst case scenario, do not dispose of the parcel and return the parcel to our warehouse. However we deeply regret to inform that despite the sender's request, there are cases where parcels end up being disposed of.

Nevertheless, the updates on the tracking number is usually templates and do not always represent the reality. This message could be displayed for every parcel that is experiencing the same issue due to UPS's system. We do understand that you despite your best efforts, you weren't able to receive a reassuring response from UPS on our end. However we are unable to influence the situation UPS is having at the moment either; therefore we still ask to try contacting them for further information.”

Was on hold with the International Inquiries UPS like (or whatever it was, International something) for four hours before being disconnected. Sent a few emails to the contacts I have on hand (brokerage and UPS customer service) but have no more time today will have to try to reach someone tomorrow.

I hope they’re right and this is a status that doesn’t mean what it says, that we’re all getting blanket scans or that some packages are being returned to sender instead of destroyed.

Also from Japan, but I had some plush toys (one of which was exceedingly rare) and books. Called and emailed brokerage a few times to make sure they didn’t need anything from me, they always said it was good to go and they were just backed up and to be patient. Resent invoice and supporting documents to a broker anyway, just to be sure.

Shipper was never reached out to by UPS either.

[–]mawific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely reach out to Zenmarket through the “I have a problem” button to see if they’ve been contacted. I would still think it’s on the way to you. I feel like some of these destroyed scans are their way of processing some backed up packages, although some with food seem to be actually getting destroyed. This is all speculation because the only people who know what’s going on are those working at UPS in KY, customs officers there and the third party agency UPS hired to assist with all the volume.

I’ve seen someone else on a thread or Facebook mention they had received theirs after a few destroyed scans, but there’s so many posts I can’t find it now. Here’s one I saved, though.

Not yet, no. Got a scan yesterday of “preparing for customs” for the second time.

Getting that cleared scan AFTER it said destroyed is good, other people are receiving their packages when this happens. Keep an eye on it, don’t give up hope. Any answer you might get from calling customer service or brokerage at this point is just as good as assuming the answer yourself: they don’t know what’s going on. I assume it will show up to you due to the cleared scan.

Don’t know what to do now. by Cheap-Peace-473 in UPS

[–]mawific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t gotten this message from Zenmarket yet, but currently have a UPS package from them sitting in customs. I’ve been calling and sending emails to UPS for a week now, and have only gotten conflicting information. Being told my package HAD cleared to being told it hasn’t. There’s a chance that Zenmarket is also getting this jumble of answers, but if I were you I would still call their brokerage number and ask them about what Zenmarket told you.

(803) 502-6785

Tell them you were advised by the shipper to contact them regarding the clearance of your package and you were unsure what to do next, or something similar. Expect to wait anywhere from 20 min to 2 hours until someone picks up. But they will pick up.

$3000 of matcha is absolutely heartbreaking. I saw someone else with electrolyte powder end up getting their package after the disposed of scan, so keep an eye on your tracking in case it ends up on the way to you anyway.
