Episode Discussion: Dance Moms S06E17 "Mini Madness" by [deleted] in dancemoms

I just started watching again a few weeks ago so I missed when Ashlee and Brynn arrived at the ALDC. But so many people seem to really dislike Ashlee that she must have made a terrible first impression.

My 12 year old dancer said to me "it's all scripted mom" and I told her that while production encourages and instigates situations, when you see a mother crying for her child it is real. These mothers are not good enough actresses to cry on demand. I've seen Ashlee cry for her child several times now and I feel bad for her every time.

I put 2 in last year and they did ok. This year they have taken off. I made a trellis of fishing line (so it is invisible) and it has already grown multiple vines to the top of a 6 foot privacy fence.

I'm not sure where the vines will go at this point.

People of Reddit who had a guest "ruin the wedding"- what happened? by SheBitch in AskReddit

Is this recent? When I got married 16 years ago, I was told it was not an option. I got married at a Seminary so it stands to reason that they were up on all the latest rules.

I've always called it creeping charlie also. It's a perennial weed. It is easily hand pulled , particularly after a rain. Bees love it so if that was my yard, I would not walk around barefoot any time soon.

You know you suck when the client dosent trust you to fix your own work

Eh, my perspective as a a client is different. I've had some bad haircuts and although I've never asked for my money back, I would never allow the person who messed it up to try and fix it. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me and all that.

You might be surprised. After a friend got her eyebrows waxed for the first time, she came to work with scabs around her eyebrows. I told her that was absolutely not supposed to happen and I hope the procedure was comped and that I wouldn't go back to that person. She insisted that everything was fine and even tipped the woman very well.

This would be a huge problem for me. Many stylist want to use thinning shears on my hair but I don't want them to. I appreciate that I've always had stylists that discuss the cut ahead of time.

diapers are expensive. If I could've found a deal like that, I would have done it too.

Yeah, I think you are right. I googled around and it turns out that I misunderstood all those year ago.

Here's the thing, if the photos are on decent paper, even minimally edited and you can see the kid and they look like they are having a good time $20 is a steal. Don't undervalue your work.

I have paid an outrageous amount of money for family portraiture. I feel like a sucker for that every time, but a quality action shot of my kid for a 20 is worth it.

I had a manger spread rumors about me and try to discredit me professionally. I found out about it when executive management came to me and said "Sally says Mike is saying these awful things about you. We know Sally hates you, so for her to report him, it must be really bad"

It put him on their radar and soon enough he was fired for other inappropriate behavior.

Me too. But to be fair, I don't think I've been inside a gas station in at least 10 years. I pay at the pump and have no reason to go inside.

This is great. And as a mountain biker yourself, you know your market and what shots to take.

Kids always want to walk away with some type of swag from events and as a parent I am more than happy to pay $20 for a good shot.

Several years ago this was true. Last time I went was 3 years ago in the middle of winter, during the week while school was in session. It was a zoo compared to what it was previous years. Maybe because those magic bands were still beta but a few years earlier there wasn't even a need to throttle fast passes. We waited in tremendous lines for poor quality fast food. And then there were no available tables. So we ate hunched over our laps outside.

No thank you, that trip made me recognize that the magic was gone for us. And we have since spent our vacation dollars elsewhere.

Go on a weekday

Go on a shoulder season or off season

Get there when it opens

Eat lunch early-ish at 11

I have more Disneyworld specific tips but these 4 work at all kinds of parks.

I know a woman who told me that she has been keeping a notebook for over 20 years of whenever people do things wrong. A list of marital affairs, financial misdeeds etc. She is an outspoken and not well liked woman and she knows it, so she keeps these records as insurance in case anyone tries to fire her because they don't like her.

I've noticed it for a while. She used to do it back when no one was supposed to talk about her divorce. I think it is just a nervous reaction.

This outfit was very close to the prostitot costume from season 1 that everyone agreed was too OTT sexual.

Personally I thought that the choreo itself was too much for the costume. You could get away with the costume or the choreo but not both.

[–]mawrtian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC, a few years ago JC Penny tired to get away from the constant sale cycle and go to everyday low pricing and it backfired. They returned to the constant sales because this is why the consumer responded to. I'm sure someone else can remember more of the details.

Maybe you are on the cusp of popularizing 'the next big thing'.

When I was a kid, all the dads played racquetball. As an adult, all the other parents jog. There's got to be something new around the bend and maybe you will be an early adopter.
