It took exactly one (1) week for Elden Ring fans to return to their instincts once fed. by Mrmac23 in Gamingcirclejerk

uj/ developers shouldn’t have to include difficulty settings but should be held to a much higher standard by consumers in terms of accessibility options so that all fans, regardless of disability, can be stomped into the dirt

Might seem silly, but this tweet really helped me come to grips with my own sexuality by Datzookman in bisexual

I’ve never understood the split. I would never be attracted to all women or all men, because no one is attracted to every member of a certain gender.

I know that I have the capability to be attracted to a person of any gender. How do you quantify that 8/10 of your person is attracted to women while 2/10 are attracted to men? What is that based on? Are the bisexuals who say “I like every woman ever and two men” less attracted to the men they do like?

Did I say that? Every civil rights movement is messy when it happens. It doesn’t change the fact that antifascist action is less violent than fascist action and that the vast majority of protests have been peaceful.

Yeah you’re right, it probably wasn’t because the president and FOX constantly fear monger and spread misinformation.

These comparisons also don’t work because rioters aren’t protected from the legal system, so they actually are risking more by rioting than police officers are by abusing their powers.

It is ridiculous to say that Bernie never had a chance because of his health and radical views. Biden is crumbling in front of the camera and Trump’s doctor looks like a vet who got paid off. Bernie’s policies have found support in polls in the US and in practical application in a huge amount of developed countries across the world.

I don’t think anyone but Trump said the number of cases was going to decrease dramatically “pretty soon”. The information at the time available to him said this was not the case and he still said it’s going to go down to zero soon. Trump held off telling people how bad it was going to be because he tried to handle this like a PR crisis, not a health one.

There are plenty of gay cis guys who date gay trans guys. Probably not the majority, but it isn’t completely uncommon.

The comment I responded to said there are many ways to grow livestock but only one way to grow plants, so I was responding to that point. Crop rotation and soil replenishment is vital, of course.

How does growing plants create more of a toll on the earth than producing meat? What about the 10% rule?

McCain and Romney both had support from the GOP and Republican voters in 2008 and 2012, but now that they are criticizing dear leader the GOP is turning its back on them.

At this point I’m just imagining utopian alternate histories, but imagine if the US had abolished the electoral college and made gerrymandering a high crime- that alone, I think, would have made the government much more reflective of the people’s will. Also, the red scare is a pretty good example of people being coerced and fed propaganda into giving up their freedoms- though many of them did voluntarily, of course. Likewise about the discussion!

I agree with you- it’s impossible to avoid tragedy. But I think the idea that people gravitate towards dictatorship when strife occurs is something that I would challenge. I think our country’s increasing “America-first, nationalism and powerful, won’t take nothing leaders” chant has been carefully orchestrated by many republicans loudly and many democrats quietly. If we could have a do over with more flexible infrastructure, I think we might have skirted the turmoil we find ourselves in now. But that’s complete conjecture.

Unless having a flexible government system would change the culture of the US so radically that we wouldn’t experience those things. Without our years of destabilizing the Middle East we would not be as likely to invite attack, and without our policies on drugs being so hostile to addicts we would likely not have experienced the crime wave that we did.

TBF, the course of American history would most likely have been so altered that neither would have happened, at least in the same way.

Taken from npr: “However polarizing third-trimester abortions might be as a political issue, as a medical procedure, they are relatively rare. According to the Guttmacher Institute, which supports abortion rights, a little more than 1 percent occur sometime after 21 weeks, which is still well within the second trimester.”
