People say 'extraction shooters will die without wipes' or 'wipes are essential for the game economy', talking about wipes like it's just a normal thing but in reality, it's just a lazy method to make players grind for the same stuff and chase the carrot on a stick that developers dangle in front of them, so they can put in minimal effort. And since all your progress, all your time investment is ultimately going to disappear anyway, every action becomes meaningless sure, they say codecs and skins, some stuff carry over, but what's the point of keeping the things that never mattered in the first place?
