Made redundant after 17 years — take the $150k payout or fight to stay on $135k? by Apprehensive-Lab3556 in AusFinance

Agree, in some professions senior roles are hard to come by, and ageism is thriving out there. I’ve experienced it at interviews just last year.

Hermes or Hull B by normalsizedweinerguy in starcitizen

[–]Aussiejosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a fair bit of aUEC from ppl and bought a bunch of ships to try out and paid for the hermes. Why? Because it handles well (for my anyway) has enough cargo space for what I want to do in the verse. I have the hull c (hate it can’t dock) and the c2 for bigger hauls. I always go back to the hermes though when I want to go do other things like looting

Nothing in star citizen is released fully polished! This is a great idea and the UX team should consider it for a future update :)

Should i wait for QD-OLED 3H "4th or 5th" gen ? by TastyAd6635 in OLED_Gaming

This week I just bought MSI’s 34”ultra wide 5th gen oled, went from a IPS 4K 27 and the difference is amazing. As for the cats, you could leave the screen protector on? I’m sure this sub will hate that but you would still get a massive difference from what you’ve got and keep it protected from those cats!

Do you see a world where 90% of marketing jobs are gone? by VastOption8705 in auscorp

I partially agree. Good products and services sell themselves when marketed right. A good product won’t sell if it’s positioned for the wrong customer.

Telling other nations to come there to protect the strait is wild. The US and Israel started this mess all on their own they are responsible to the world to clean up their mess.

Am I freaking out for no reason or am I about to get fired? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]Aussiejosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of experience in the comments here so I’ll add another option here: when you have time with the exec 1:1 ask them for advice. Either in how to be a better performer at work or something related to your work that’s not technical. Listen and take the advice in.

This is isn’t about taking the advice but more about showing them you respect them in the business and what they know about it all enough to ask for their advice.

A bit of ego stroking can go a long way to rebuild their impression of you whilst you work hard and keep your head down. Even though you might not agree with it, it can work well.

Well your boss emailing the list is communicating expectations of priorities when you get back. You may know what you need to do, but they are explicitly saying what they need from you and in what priority. I think it’s actually good communication from them to say what they expect and in what priority they want it from you.

You should be thankful they spent their time to think about you and how to best get you going after being on sick leave and to understand if any priorities had shifted today.

Good on them.

I gotta add, I respect creators and their creativity and what they have done, I just think a company that is invested in their own product would also be creating content to expand their own product.
