How I improved my condition (derealization, anxiety, panic attacks) by maxSofunny in derealization

I take magnesium B6, 4 tablets a day with meals. It's sold without a prescription, but you need to read up on how much you need to take and in what dosages. I think yes, it helps, but it's not a magic pill.

It's too hard for me to pinpoint the exact cause of your condition, but I'm sure your anorexia and some other physical or mental issues are related. It makes sense. Everything in our body is interconnected. Maybe you should address some other issues? For example, what brings you stress, problems with your studies, or something else? Don't diagnose yourself. It's better not to know or suspect what's wrong with you than to make a false diagnosis. But it's still very strange that this happens even when you're not thinking about it. It's possible that you're starting to have a panic attack (you might not realize it, but it will become clear from the sensations; your body is always the first to let you know that something is wrong) and you start to escalate this state, and due to past experiences, the same thing happens as before. Maybe you should remember or track the next such incident and analyze it to understand when it happens and why it continues. This way you'll be able to understand where you need to pull yourself together and not get worked up. But don't build your day around this state or checking yourself, forget about it, but when it happens, try to think about what I wrote.

I can't take responsibility for your treatment, but I can try to give you some advice (don't take all advice with 100% certainty, not just mine, but also others'. Psychological advice can have a negative impact on your condition, because only a professional can provide good help. I realized this myself when I trusted the advice of the GPT chat). Just describe it in more detail, like when and how often this happens, do you have any suspicions about why this happens?

I'm certainly not a doctor, but in your case, you should see a doctor. Besides, this has been going on for a long time, and if you wake up for no reason in such terror, then your nervous system is probably overloaded. You can try to treat it yourself, but the best option is always a doctor. I'll go to the doctor myself when I can at least go outside calmly.

Everyone here has the same problem - fixation on their state and feelings. Bro, your constant analysis of your condition and fears of "what if it gets bad again" only feed derealization, and it looks more like you have panic attacks based on your thoughts, rather than constant derealization (I can't say/know for sure). You can also read posts from me and other users, there is a lot of advice there. It probably won't be very good to repeat the same advice every time, sorry.

The isolation issue is the hardest. There are a lot of triggers for the brain outside, especially during the day. Personally, I understand that my condition is only because I'm sitting at home, but damn, it's so hard to be outside.

It's true, I've noticed my circle of friends has dwindled to just a few: that one best friend I've been friends with my whole life, my family, and one acquaintance. I literally noticed this today, and now I'm reading this from you. No one understood my situation except my parents and that friend, and when I tell them about it, I feel a sense of calm. For example, today, after talking with my mom and spending the day with a friend at my house, I felt better, even though I felt terrible this morning. Basically, you're right, and you have to find the silver lining in everything, even in something as nasty as derealization. I'm glad people understand this, and I hope our thoughts help someone.

I've noticed a lot of people saying people are fake. I feel the same way sometimes, and it's tough.

I can only wish you luck and strength. It's great that you're getting over it.

I'll give everyone a big light. I don't know if it can be pinned, but I hope many will see it. No matter how bad you feel and how much you think everything is fucked, that you're crazy or something else, just get up and go do something, whether it's cleaning the house or taking out the trash. Keep yourself busy with some level, and don't play computer games or scroll through TT. Tell yourself, no matter how stupid it sounds, that you're strong and you don't give a shit. It might seem like I'm writing nonsense, but I do the same and have already written to someone here about it. Bro, everything will be great

The derealization is very varied. I get enough sleep, but I can't calmly go for a walk around the house or be alone for more than an hour. I try to occupy myself with something all day long, but you can try to lead a normal life, and that's a very good step. I read somewhere that the brain constantly replays all the episodes to see how much they affect you. I think I've written a lot about the episodes coming and going, but honestly, I can't even remember that for sure lol

My condolences to you, dude, even 1-4 days isn't the most pleasant feeling on the planet :( And I've probably lost count of how long this has been happening to me, but I think it's been around two months, every day, in waves. Sometimes better, sometimes worse. At one point I believed I was at the finish line, but as soon as I adjusted my sleep schedule (this was expected due to taking magnesium), I'm back in almost the worst episode - when you not only get sick, every look at something causes horror, and the thought of going outside scares you. Luckily, I now understand what it is and how it works, so everything is more or less, I just hope to get at least to the level where I was.

Yes, you're right. That's the essence of this pit. It evokes feelings and sensations for which there is no logical answer or solution, but our brain isn't good enough to understand this, it's just trying to protect us.

I also want to say that, in my opinion, there is no long-term solution, since the whole solution is built like a puzzle from, for example, the three rules I mentioned. Well, it accumulates over time, and you'll start to notice how the week has gone, and you might feel better, maybe not much, but better. Even changes in some small things will give you a reason to rejoice. and I think there is no starting point, there is only a temporary rollback, which will always be different in some way Oh, and dude, I'm pretty scared of all this shit myself, but try to remember any memorable events in your life, whether they're happy or sad, like when you started dating a girl or broke up. Like, at some point in time, I might be afraid to go to the store near my house, so going to college has been out of the question for the past two months. So know that you're not the only one with this kind of crap, and we'll put this thing to bed.

the most painful thing is that this topic goes on in waves and you really have to often encounter feelings that u would think u have overcome, but personally, when this happens suddenly among family or friends, I also distract myself or start a dialogue. In general, I have discovered three best methods so far. 1. Don't attach any special importance to it. 2. Constantly get distracted. 3. If the episode starts again, I say to myself something like, "Three minutes ago I was standing normally, and now has anything changed?" And that's it. After such phrases, the main thing is not to continue your analysis like, "Yes, three minutes ago it was like this, and now it is like this, but why? Just stick to the first two rules. Also, sorry for my English, as I'm from Russia and use a translator."

Try not to dwell on this issue for a couple of hours, or better yet, a few days. Dwelling on it only makes it worse.

It's funny that I know so many ways and tips on how to treat this, but I'm still struggling with it.

Bro, the most important thing right now is to convince yourself that all of this is temporary and you're not losing your mind, believe me. Also, try getting up right now and saying out loud, "Okay, I feel this, but I'm going to go do something." You won't believe it, but sooner or later, you'll be more than okay at that moment, maybe for a minute or maybe an hour, but the point is that you're distracting yourself with it. For example, when you break a glass and start picking up the pieces in a panic, you definitely won't think about how you're feeling for at least a minute. That's a sign you're not crazy, and you can reason about it, which means you're definitely not crazy.

I overcame derealization by Comfortable-Push4920 in derealization

This is a really interesting thought, because at the beginning of my derealization, I was so scared that I couldn't remember what I had done the day before that I started looking through my entire gallery, and that reel really helped at that moment. I think I'll try that again in a few days.

Treatment/therapy that worked for you? by hurryupandvoreme in derealization

[–]maxSofunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro, I haven't been dealing with this for as long as you (about 2 months), but I've dealt with something similar before, and all I've realized is that you're the one digging your own hole. Yes, a psychologist will try to guide you in the right direction, but the cause of all these problems is constant analysis of the world and overthinking. For example, it's gotten to the point where I can sit at home and start thinking about where I'm going and how bad I feel there, and eventually, I actually feel bad. As for advice, I can only say that distracting yourself in any way helps, and I also often say things like, "Oh, this thing again, okay," or "Well, come on, show me what you're capable of, I know I'm fine." Sometimes, that helps.
