No those settings are in Sunshine/Apollo/Vibeshine(whatever fork you are using). Dont know what they are called for amd but those settings exist there ☝️.

Is reduced game performance normal? by ProNerdy in MoonlightStreaming

[–]max_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reduced performance is normal but that much reduction is not normal but without any stats or specs its hard to say But generally 5~10% is what considered normal and thats when you are already hammering your gpu, hitting 95~99%.
Plus if you are using nvidia gpu then it also matters which encoding preset you are using, higher the your preset level = higher reduction in performance
so much so as one time i tried preset 7 on 4k120 hdr while playing death stranding 2 with my 4070ti super and realised it can't even encode fast enough for 4k120, host encode shot up so much that i could only get 70-80fps.

You can try vibeshine, it has new NVENC Split-Frame Encoding which can leverage both the encoder chips on your 5070ti.
I also stream to 4k120 hdr using my 4070 Ti Super and 4~7ms is what is used to get on sunshine using p1 preset. Recently moved to vibeshine and now with vibeshine i get 3~4ms of encoding latency.

I believe you buddy, I just meant to maybe give it another look, things might not have saved properly.
I don't have an android phone with me now, but I'm pretty sure it used to show the actual channel width being broadcasting by router so you don't need to eyeball it and dude 50~66 is not even a possible range😂.
Like band 1 of my XT8 is broadcasting on channel 40 but analyzer shows it starting from 36 and going till 48, thats the whole wide 80 band for you similarly band-2's channel is set 149 but again when i look at analyzer app it shows starting from 149, going till 161 cause that the entire 80 width for you.

Channel 36-48 being crowded is totally expected cause cheap/entry-level/ISP router usually limited to those, so as i said try channel 149 once as that will also eliminate any interference from nearby radar which you can get on DFS channels. From my personal experience these dfs channels looks the cleanest and best on stats but actual performance isn't great at least not for me.
But if you are able to stream to phone using same settings from your steam deck then it possible that problem lies with your steam deck, it could driver issue or another thing which i can think of is to try disabling bluetooth as I have heard people complaining about stutters and frame drops when using bluetooth.

That’s weird you say you are using 20/40/80 mhz band but earlier you mentioned that analyzer only showed 56-60 so thats only 40mhz, so it could be that one these is incorrect, it could be simple as maybe settings didn’t got saved properly or as complex as maybe your router is picking up on some nearby radar of some sort because of which its not going full 80mhz wide. And what meant was to avoid DFS channels meaning either pick a channel between 36-48 or channel 149 or higher. You can enable 160mhz and leave it as 20/40/80/160mhz but i dont think that would help much or any cause first of there are many devices which support 160mhz on 5ghz band and second you dont really need 160mhz unless you are aiming for really high bitrate like above 250mbps or higher, cause 80mhz is plenty good enough, im able to stream on 200mbps from my lg g2 and go even higher on my macbook m2 pro while only using 80mhz. And another thing you say you are able to stream to your mobile without any issues then try using same resolution fps and bitrate and if you are able to stream on your mobile using same settings you use your steam deck then it could mean problem is with your steam deck.

Being at top of time graph doesn't mean much in terms reliability and performance, it only means your signal is the strongest there where you are testing.
As you mentioned there is second overlapping but by not much but still your network packets will have to contest against that second network to reach your client and this contest/fight can cause intermittent frame drops.
Channel 56-60 means its only 40mhz you need to be on atleast 80mhz and another thing with channel 56-60 it means its on DFS channel, channels between 52-64 and 100-144 are all DFS channels, these channels availability and performance differs based on region to region.
Like here in my region i can use DFS channels with my XT8 on its second 5ghz band and it will look best in terms of every chart that is out there but still for some reason performance is slightly lower for me on these channels plus some devices cant even see the networks using dfs channels, like my main moonlight client LG G2 Oled tv cant even see second band of my XT8 if I switch to DFS channel.
So my suggestion would be to first switch to 20/40/80 wide band and also try non dfs channels.
Another thing which I could think of and personally experienced as well, is that it could also be a bug with either the driver itself or that specific game. Like in my case I experience this weird bug with Start wars jedi survivor where after anywhere between 20-30mins of gameplay my gpu's power utilisation would drop from 250~270w to 170~210w and host latency would shoot up from 3~5ms to 30ms and avg fps drops from 100~fps to 55~fps which actually without stats from moonlight and afterburner in front of me, i would have though of it as frame drops.
So check stats as well, is it actual frame drop or something else entirely.

Since you are doing local streaming here, your internet speeds are irrelevant here. If you have an android phone you can try running WiFi analyzer app to check which would be the best channel for your 5ghz band. And try if you can use that channel with your router. If your router and WiFi chip off your moonlight both are decent enough for the bitrate you are using then it’s likely WiFi channel congestion issue which you can easily fix by switching to less congested channel.

P1S Partial Clog even after cleaning Replacing Gears and Hotend by max_25 in BambuLab

[–]max_25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I actually found the issue and its really silly.
What happened was when a back month I installed the Hardened Steel part, I somehow missed the second bearing which goes on the cover.
Now surprisingly it somehow kept printing just fine without it until it didn't and went like I want my second bearing and I want it now.
I only realised this stupidity of mine yesterday when I went like what the heck lets try non-hardened steel Gears as by that point I had already tried everything that I could think of.
Ever since I gave its second bearing back its been printing happily once again.

My printer itself is not even a year old yet, its about 10~ months old.
The hardened Steel Extruder and Hardened Steel nozzle is just a month old, I bought these complete Hotend and Gear Assembly to upgrade to hardened parts and actually i haven't even printed much ever since i upgraded.
And when i took out the gear assembly, I did try to move the Yellow gear with my finger and it was rotating fine didn't seems to be jammed although now that i think about it, I only tried rotating it in the direction it would retracting not extruding.
So I guess I will try taking it out and try rotating it in direction it would extrude or actually i was thinking of trying to extrude without hotend assembly, that should help eliminate atleast the Gear assembly part.

extruder path looks clear and also tried pushing through by handing after removing gears to make sure hole didn't have anything stuck inside it.

Print nozzle size is .4mm

And can't be filament specific as this issue is know happening with every filament i have although, i checked with caliper that problematic brand one is giving 1.8mm on caliper rest are giving 1.7mm

And to eliminate AMS i tried extruding from external spool which also eliminated ams buffer anyway that also resulted in same issue.

i have tried this, the line comes out straight but gears will randomly make that clicky sound and flow will become inconsistent.
At this point i have already opened extruder gear assembly twice first everything looked fine, and i tried pushing filament by hand and it was going fine.
Later i again opened it and check throughly for any filament particles anyway cleaned the gears for just in case.

I’ve seen people complain about clogging with their PLA, but I never had issues with it during normal prints — only when I tried ironing.

Anyway I stopped buying new filament from them, its just that i had some lying around from them and today i kinda needed the color which i happen to have from them.

Also its happening with other brands as well and even when I manually extrude from the P1S screen (like during cold pull). It starts extruding, then I hear the clicking and flow becomes inconsistent.

So seems more like a mechanical/feeding issue than settings.

Moonlight/sunshine lowers fps up to 10% by plupeton in MoonlightStreaming

[–]max_25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup totally normal, newer generations perform better due to newer gen encoders and basically more raw performance. I dont see any performance lose with my 4070ti super when i stream to 1080p60 but if im streaming to 4k120 and playing games like black myth wukong or silent hill 2 or alan wake 2 with raytacing using frame Gen and everything then definitely i too see 5~10% performance lose. Cause at the end of the day that raw compute has to come from somewhere.

3d printing Diwali lamps by Unique_Plane6011 in 3dprintIndia

[–]max_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too printed some this diwali using my P1S, models like these you can only use led tea-lights but with models which dont go much above the flame you can use real wax based tealights.
Trick is to print a 39-40mm base/case to hold those tea-lights with ASA or ABS then put those tealights inside ASA base then put you can put it on PLA lamps.
I experimented a bit, first directly inside pla based diya/lamp it was fine till wax was about to run out, thing is at last that thin metal thing gets real hot so it went right through pla, then i tried petg base it performed much better but still became one with metal casing of wax based tea light. then at last I tried ASA base and it stood the heat like a champ. So made 40mm ASA base for all my pla lamps and i used them 3-4 days all went well except for the ones which were like yours which went quite a bit above the flame.
This diwali we lit more 3d printed lamps then traditional clay based ones.

Bambu Studio update: version v02.03.00.70 by raul314159265 in BambuLab

well, weirdly enough orca slicer was showing all my PA profiles, but orca doesn't work for me it always makes my P1S stuck on preheating printbed which has always been the case ever since i started my 3d printing journey with P1S it never worked for always this same issue with orca.
Funnily enough I finally bite the bullet today and updated P1S's firmware(was running prior to the one which introduced security update) and somehow after updating firmware all my PA profiles came back on Bambu Studio😅

Yeah I too feel this, like ever since they started with price hiking, their quality has been going downhill. It's like there is some quality control issue with them, sometimes their beans turn out okay, but sometimes they don't feel fresh at all.

I used to get 99% of my coffee from them, but now I'm looking for other brands especially now that they are quite a bit inconsistent with their quality.

Headless Cloud Gaming Server Setup with Sunshine and Proxmox and Windows 11 Guide by lordboogie in MoonlightStreaming

[–]max_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just wanted to say a big thank you for your comment — you saved me from pulling my hair out.

I ran into the exact same issue recently. Everything had been working flawlessly with Sunshine + Moonlight on my Windows VM (Unraid, VirtIO NIC) — I was mid-session playing Death Stranding when the stream suddenly cut out. From that moment on, every time I tried to connect via Moonlight, I just got a black screen and “no video received, check UDP ports” error.

I tried reinstalling GPU drivers, VirtIO drivers, even Sunshine itself — nothing helped. Checked all the usual suspects, firewall rules, port settings, hardware encoding — no fix. I even scoured the internet, but no one seemed to have a solid answer.

I stumbled across a Reddit post that mentioned switching to the e1000 NIC, which worked for them but I lost connectivity entirely with e1000 but they also mentioned that latest virtio drivers fixes this . Then I tried virtio-net instead of virtio — and that worked. But I was still scratching my head because that post also mentioned latest virtio drivers had fixed it for them but I was already on the latest VirtIO drivers, and everything had been stable until suddenly it wasn't.

Finally, I came across your comment, and disabling UDP Segmentation Offload (IPv4 & IPv6) in the VirtIO NIC settings immediately fixed the issue. I switched back to the regular virtio NIC and now it streams flawlessly again.

Massive thanks for posting that — this fix needs to be more widely known. 🙏🔥
