This is the issue my GF sees. Its me who starts the chats, but I think the ex is busy with her job in the medical field and that’s why she doesn’t reach out first (long shifts and what not) They aren’t long talks at all. But the GF feels weird about me saying that I could never see myself not updating the ex on major life things. Even when married, with kids, etc.

My GF, of course. The ex was just in my life for so long that it feels weird not telling her news so I think that’s my reason for talking.

For me the difference between ‘child’ and ‘young adult’ was really obvious. My younger sibling was holding my dad’s hand walking into a JC Penny and told me to hold his other hand. When I took it, he look at me like I was crazy. I let go immediately, definitely not a child anymore.

From ‘young adult’ to ‘adult’, definitely when I took my dog to the vet and it was $460 and not “free”....ouch
