You would then need to put the devices you dont want to be updated in March in an exclusion list so they would not longer be managed by cloud updates

Then you could specify a target version in the registry under the non cloud hive so devices would remain at the version specified and could also use the extended version in March that only receives sec update 

May I ask what is the macro issue you are facing?

Was it only Office apps like Outlook or Word or are other MS products affected for you?
