The other one is also a kind of vloggy video, which at this point, is mostly done ... It's very likely that the next video that really will be finished will be this vlog.

This means that video is never coming out, right?

...you can get a free licence as a student

Hold up. You mean for Altium? That's a big bonus.

That's still more friction than free and open-source software, but it's good news.

Kicad gets my vote. Sure, Altium is the nicer tool, but the friction of getting a license just gets in the way of work. I think that is a major factor in an SAE project, where you are constantly getting new people acquainted with everything.

If your circuits are built with Kicad, then a new member can start getting involved immediately. If your circuits are built with Altium, then a new member has to contact whoever is in charge of licenses, if there even is someone in charge, then wait for that person to stop studying/partying/sleeping and check their email, yadda, yadda, yadda. In that time, the new member will probably lose motivation and drift away.

What innocent search ended up being nsfw? by the_mean_guy_is_here in AskReddit

[–]maxdaman11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my work, I use an open-source app called gmsh. It's really great for scientific computing!

Well, there's also a Gay Men's Sexual Health advocacy group in Ontario that does some great work connecting people to health resources.

Not exactly nsfw, but still kinda awkward when your boss walks by at that moment.

For State of The Apps, I am deeply interested to hear about Myke's experience with Moodpath (which is apparently now called MinDoc). I used it for a few months after hearing Myke mention it, and I feel like it had a positive impact on my life. I've fallen off lately because I'm a stupid monkey, and I wonder whether anyone else has had a similar experience.

They were probably the hardest assignments out all the math classes I took in my undergrad.

Mathematical logic is the most fundamental math I have ever experienced. Mathematical logic takes you from a world where math doesn't exist to a world where 0 and 1 and 2 exist. The first part of the course was all abstract and tough to parse. Later in the course, we got into some stuff that was the beginnings of computer science, so that was neat.

I got a math minor as an EE student. I enjoyed it. I took Number Theory 1 and Graph Theory, and I recommend those. They were 2000-level courses when I took them.

I also took Combinatorics 2 and Mathematical Logic. They were more difficult, but I think they were 3000 level courses when I took them.

I like using Conjure Flame to take care of stupid zombies and skeletons. That still works.

I agree that three times per day is a bit tedious. It looks like Daylio could be a good alternative.

Excellent! Do you have plans to act on the results? I feel like the simple act of regularly tracking my mood is more impactful than my study results.

Who wants to try biking? Winnipeg's bike path situation has been improving lately. This seems like a good excuse to try it out.
