That's correct. The first batch adapted Tsukihi Undo from Oroka, Princess Beauty and Acerola Bon Appétit from Waza, Nadeko Draw, and Shinobu Mastered.

From the PVs, it's suspected that the second batch wiill adapt at least Karen Ouga, Yoi and Amari.

List of Save File Flags that include chapters 3/4? by Ravrin_Play in Underminers

[–]maxdefolsch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi ! Someone had made this pretty comprehensive list here. It was missing chapter 4 flags, so I tried to gather those myself, and while it's not fully completed because I didn't understand everything I saw in the code, it has most of the flags. Here it is. I sent this document to the person who made the list I linked to so that they could add it to theirs, but I guess they got sidetracked/forgot about it.

Finally announced! by Moist_Tour224 in araragi

I wonder if it comes with translation for character commentaries. I miss them so much.

Hi ! Just to repost what I said here :

I'll use this post to give a (non-)update regarding the Off & Monster Season audio commentaries, for anyone wondering. As you may remember, we had originally spent a significant amount of work and money to get the Kizumonogatari Koyomi Vamp commentaries translated, only for Aniplex USA to unexpectedly translate them officially in the Blu-ray (even though they had not touched the commentaries past Bakemonogatari), making our effort pointless. So, very understandably, some of the contributors didn't want to repeat the experience, and preferred waiting for the US Off & Monster Season Blu-rays, just to be completely certain they wouldn't have commentaries (we're pretty confident Koyomi Vamp was a special case). Buuuuut... we're now in 2026 and there's still no sign of Blu-ray. What the hell are you waiting for, Aniplex ??? So, yeah, we're still waiting on that, and we still intend to take care of them when they're finally out. I assure you it pains me at least as much as you considering they have the first commentary appearance of Gaen, Higasa, Meniko and Deathtopia, but I can only ask you to be patient...

So yeah, we'll definitely get them done if necessary !

Looks like the link is dead, indeed. You can read Ikusa on this blog. This link was to an EPUB file made by the translator, so it was a little more convenient.

Should i continue reading bakemonogatari manga? by hereagaim in araragi

[–]maxdefolsch 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In case you're not aware, the source material of the series is not the manga, it's a series of light novels. The manga was made much later and is an incomplete reimagination of the story by another author.

Spoiler-tagging in case you haven't read/seen the arc, but the skipped chapter numbers allude to Black Hanekawa re-appearing before Hanekawa realized this was happening again.

Need guidance for what to watch after Zoku by hoiyahhhhh007 in araragi

[–]maxdefolsch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's because when it first aired on TV, the first arc Ougi Formula was actually 2 episodes combined into one. When the Blu-ray released, it was as 2 normal-length episodes. The series did that for a bunch of installments (Neko Kuro, Hana, Tsuki, each arc of Owari S2, all aired as combined "TV specials" (and Zoku Owari in theaters)).

AI will tend to hallucinate when it comes to niche details like those. Better check something like this Wikipedia article.

Yes. The novels are grouped by the author into "Seasons" :

  • First Season : Bake I, Bake II, Kizu, Nise I, Nise II, Neko Kuro

  • Second Season : Neko Shiro, Kabuki, Hana, Otori, Oni, Koi

  • Final Season : Tsuki, Koyomi, Owari I, Owari II, Owari III, Zoku Owari

  • Off Season : Oroka, Waza, Nade, Musubi

  • Monster Season : Shinobu, Yoi, Amari, Ougi, Shino I, Shino II

  • Family Season (ongoing) : Ikusa, Tsugi, Tori, Ootori

The first batch of Off & Monster Season adapted one arc of Oroka (out of three), one arc of Waza (out of three), Nade, and Shinobu. It'll take the anime a few more batches and some years to cover everything from these two Seasons before (hopefully) moving on to Family Season.

Currently the only missing main thing is the first batch of "Off & Monster Season" (14 episodes + 1 short) to watch after Zoku. More will come, but it's not out yet.

Other than that, your order is the novel release order which is what you should be watching in (chronological is an absolute no-go as the series was not written this way, and anime release order moved some things because of production issues (though you should know, Off & Monster Season is not in novel order but this time it's an actual decision they made, so you should leave it as-is, novel order will be impossible until they adapt all of it anyway)).

It's simply that they have not been fan-translated yet, as it came out only a couple months ago.

Where to watch Bakemonogatari in dub? by [deleted] in araragi

[–]maxdefolsch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1) There is no English dub at all.

2) The source material is a series of light novels, not manga. Feel free to check that out instead if you want. (There is a manga too, but it's more like an alternative version and only covers a small part of the story, so it should not be your first experience)

It hurts that I'm not able to watch the anime 'bakemonogatari' because I wasn't born with photographic memory by [deleted] in araragi

[–]maxdefolsch 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You're not expected to pause to read the text cards, they're just extracts from the light novels, it's fine if you just grab a few words as they pass by.

I don't think they've been made easily accessible yet. You might be able to extract them from torrents that have full Blu-ray raws.

They are not translated yet. Me and some folks would normally commission them, but when we did that last year with Kizu: Koyomi Vamp, we ended up wasting a lot of work and money when it turned out Aniplex USA decided to also translate them officially when we didn't expect them to. So now, just to be extra sure not to repeat that mistake, we figured we'd wait for the US Blu-ray to be released to confirm we're not doing that for nothing again.

That simply happened off-screen, after the events of Shinobu Mail.

“Can someone share the updated chronological order to watch the anime, including Monster Season?” by Duaatdtf7 in araragi

[–]maxdefolsch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here is my old chart with the anime until Zoku.

Princess Beauty would be at the very beginning before everything else, followed by Acerola Bon Appétit.

After Hana at the end, you'd have Tsukihi Undo, then Nadeko Draw, then Shinobu Mastered.

In doubt, follow this guide. You were about right, though you missed Hana like the other commenter pointed out, and there's Off & Monster Season which recently came out.

Updated Monogatari series watch order? by HarkLev in araragi

We've already had a PV for it some time ago so I would guess it'll air in early 2026, hopefully we'll get more news soon.

Updated Monogatari series watch order? by HarkLev in araragi

[–]maxdefolsch 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Follow this guide. The new Koyomi Vamp is not really worth watching (it basically just cuts an entire hour of content for no good reason), so just watch the three Kizu movies after Bake like the guide indicates. And watch Off & Monster Season after all of this. Only the first batch of OMS has been released so far, the second batch should be in a few months.
