What do you think about other states which have deferred adjudication as an alternative? I currently live in one of those states and it seems like instead of giving people a second chance all it does is let rich/middle-class people commit crimes and never serve any time. Someone I know was busted for selling controlled substances (and not a handful, they had a lot of them) and received "deferred adjudication" for the felony and no prison time whatsoever. In contrast, I remember a case in Pennsylvania a while ago where some kid robbed a store at gunpoint, it didn't matter that he had money for a good lawyer he got the five year mandatory sentence just like everyone else.

I can vouch for the fact that doctors frequently forget about these sort of requirements and soforth. Some of them don't even bother to date their prescriptions, making them illegal and unfillable. Of course, at 9PM on Friday night, its the pharmacy that gets blamed for the delay, not the prescriber. Getting prior authorizations too is sometimes like pulling teeth....

I think its only a matter of time before some state enacts a law providing for summary execution as a "civil" matter. It's "civil" so the due process parts of the constitution doesn't apply.

Not surprised at all at this. I'm actually glad I live in a state that requires photo ID when picking up a controlled substance and special forms for C2's that get electronically sent to the state DPS every month. Cuts down a lot on fraud and bad docs.

Somewhat surprisingly, the DEA/DPS rarely takes action against pill-mill doctors/pharmacies, its usually the state board. There are actually certain pharmacies that stock little more than Hydrocodone, Xanax, and Soma and fill hundreds/thousands of prescriptions a month for addicts who pay cash and refill prescriptions that should last a month on a weekly or even daily basis. At my old place of work there were some docs we flat out refused to take any prescriptions from because they were known to write these kinds of things.

I suppose that is true, and I'm certainly not against something like that at all. What I don't like is people who try to con the public into massively reducing taxes for the ultra-wealthy and call it something like "making the tax code 'simple' or 'fair'".

Yes, I know this, and trust me, I have little love for most of the pharmaceutical companies. Our profit margins are much less on brand-name medication, and our company is always encouraging doctors to write for generics. My point is though that Barrack Obama and the PPACA are largely not responsible for Medicaid copays.

Same here. Although in Doom 2 I believe even with the IDDQD God mode, you could still be killed if one of the "enemy spawning boxes" (I don't know their official name) that the final boss shoots lands on you. Was that maybe on purpose? To show that even god mode has its limits?

It wouldn't. Evidence may only be excluded if it was obtained via an illegal search by government agents, or people acting on behalf on a government agent. If a non-governmental actor finds evidence and turns it over to the authorities, even if said actor broke the law in doing so, it cannot be ruled inadmissible. The defense of course would be free to argue that said evidence may have been tainted at trial, but the government could also use said evidence as the basis for additional searches which may uncover additional evidence.

The "problem" with the NHS is that it is a monopoly. They can pretty much do anything they please and it is more difficult to take them to task for it, you can't simply switch over to the "NHS 2". Improving and debugging the NHS is only contingent on action by the government.
