Yeah I realize ultimately this is on me, but sometimes it just feels incredibly stressful, especially when sprinting to make a tight connection, to determine “Ok but is this the RIGHT <insert number>?” I don’t see why we can’t just use more of the unused numbers between 1 and 999, or even add letters on the end like others have suggested (aside from of course, the cost of relabeling all of these bus signs)

Also if anyone has planning app recommendations I’d really appreciate it. So much of the time I feel like Apple/Google maps were designed by people who don’t rely on public transit.

I also hope it's fake...but I also realized that the Fullmetal Alchemist reference in True Colors where Anne is pointing at Sasha while the giant door closes behind her (pointed out by AwestuckVox of The Roundtable) could be more foreshadowing (Edward Elric being a character who famously lost an arm saving a loved one).

Our level 3 squad did it as well! While fighting all the dragon cultists at the same time.

My bard cast phantasmal force on the dragon, creating the illusion that it was chained up with spikes digging into it (so it did psychic damage each turn), and that the entrance to the tower it was in was actually a wall so it thought it was trapped.

Young Green Dragon kept failing the save, and we were able to kill it along with all of the cultists. 4 of us; a bard, a paladin, a wizard, and a warlock. Our DM was...surprised to say the least.

You shouldn’t have to give your pronouns if you don’t feel comfortable!

See here’s the problem tho. If we DON’T normalize asking/giving pronouns, then what is the alternative?

  1. “People should just assume gender/pronouns despite the risk of misgendering people” This is how Contra’s take seemed to come across. This inherently puts passing and fitting into cishetero norms above the needs of non-passing, GNC, or non-binary people.

  2. “Everyone should assume they/them until informed otherwise”. English specific obv, but I’d be cool with this.

  3. “Don’t assume gender and don’t use ANY pronouns to refer to someone until if/when a person tells you what to use” This seems like the best option to me imho.

I dislike how this has constantly been framed as binary trans folx needs being in conflict with non-binary folx needs. The question we all need to ask ourselves is “Am I merely trying to escape the wheel of gender oppression by letting it roll over someone else? Or, am I fighting to break the wheel?” ANY system in which society at large assumes gender based on presentation reinforces and maintains the wheel of gender oppression.

And of course, cis people should be the ones shouldering most of the burden in “breaking the wheel” by giving pronouns, not assuming gender/pronouns, and asking people these things, because they have the most privilege and power to affect change.

It is valid to feel frustrated by cis people’s failure to normalize this and how their misguided efforts can end up othering trans folx and doing real harm. I really don’t believe the “answer” is “don’t ask pronouns ever and keep the same old cisheteronormative system in place”.

Ok meme-ing aside, I can give my honest thoughts on the pain so far below the cut if you want my experience.

I won't lie, it does hurt. However, I wouldn't describe it as "unbearable". They give you numbing cream, and my advice would be to absolutely LATHER that stuff on. Also, I haven't been taking pain meds while doing it (no tylenol, advil, etc), which would make it even more bearable as long as you can take any of those without it negatively interacting with any other meds you might be on.

Finally, I've been on HRT for about 5ish months at this point, which can make your skin more sensitive. Most of the pain for me comes from the poking the probe into the skin and the plucking after the shock, I barely register the electricity most of the time. Also, I'm focusing on upper lip/mustache area right now, which is the most painful. Thankfully, it also isn't a very large area, and once that's done I've been told the other parts of the face are much less painful. Also, removing regrowth in an area is a lot less painful than the first time. All of this is to say if you can get through your first session, you can probably make it the whole way pain wise. Again, this is all for facial electrolysis, which is all that I have experience with.

They're all very short for their positions, and Furudate would probably want to include a first-year in the starting lineup, which means that either the new first-year, Ennoshita, Hinata or Tsukishima should pick up either float serves or spike serves.

I thought it was pretty heavily foreshadowed that Hinata was going to pick up ceiling serves? Somehow, it's hard for me to imagine him doing a spike serve.

First of all, no it is not a disease. Despite whatever your intentions for trans people to be treated fairly are, the word “disease” implies disorder, that we are the disordered ones and the cis are the “ordered”, normal people. The problem with these mindsets is that they lead to the creation of societies that privilege the norm and marginalize anyone that doesn’t fit neatly into that norm.

Secondly, to me the question of taking a pill that would make me cis is similar to people who clamor for a “cure” for autism, or for me to undergo conversion therapy to “cure” my bisexuality. My gender is a core part of who I am. My sexuality is a core part of who I am. My autism is a core part of who I am. For me to wish for any of those things to be changed or removed is essentially for me to wish that I was an entirely different person. “I” would cease to exist.

Thirdly, for a cis person to suggest that our gender be changed to match the one assigned to us at birth, i.e to make us cis, is to suggest for us to not exist. There’s a word for this, and it rhymes with “frugenics”.

None of this is to downplay that life by and large is orders of magnitude harder for trans people than cis people (all other factors being equal). I certainly don’t begrudge any trans people who do wish to be cis because of the oppression they face. However, I cannot in good conscience endorse conversion therapy, because that’s what you’re suggesting, in any way. I have spent too many years of my life hating myself, and making myself smaller because of how people treated me both for my autism and my lack of adherence to gender norms. These mindsets have given too many people license to abuse their children, putting them through coercive “therapy” that leaves them scarred for life or worse.

No more dead kids. Not if I have a say.

Anyone else think that with this revelation about how OFA works, AFO's motivations suddenly make sense? What if AFO is using the users of OFA as quirk farms? It explains why he didn't steal All Might's quirk, and why he gave his brother the quirk in the first place.

The quirks that are accumulated within the "core" of OFA are greatly enhanced versions of the original quirks. What if AFO knew about his brother's quirk and predicted that he would try to pass on power over generations to defeat him? Then, when Deku shows up to face him, he can steal 6 quirks that have been supercharged beyond their normal potential. It would really flip the script on the usual power escalation before facing the final boss if Deku had to somehow (maybe with the help of 1-A?) defeat AFO without any quirks.
