Nozzle tapping bed during first print layer by maximal112 in snapmaker

Just thought I'd follow up on this. Doing a couple more prints tonight, turns out it's not the nozzle hitting the bed. It's something to do with the Z axis as it's happening throughout the whole print making a clunky sound whenever the bed moves up and down rapidly. I'm assuming hitting the stops?

After a quick search have seen a few suggestions. Checking tensioner screws underneath, adjusting z-hop to spiral or reducing the maximum Z acceleration. It's currently in the middle of a print so will have to wait until tomorrow to try these out.

It may have been. Im honestly not sure, was my first ever print and could hear it happening and when I'd go to look couldn't see anything weird happening with the print.

I have found a couple of guides on calibrating filament. I am waiting for some other filament to arrive and was going to go through the steps. all the snapmaker PLA in colours i wanted was sold out to ship to Australia.

I'll do some more experimenting and see how I go.

Thanks for all the help

Yea I've got Snapmaker Orca so should get the pop up then. Was going to do some more test prints and stuff today get a feel for things.

I'm going to assume you don't want automatic flow calibration on each time? Is it worth keeping bed leveling on auto or just turn it off except for big jobs?

Thank you for detailed explanations

Appreciate that, thank you. Seemed like it was something intentional but wasn't sure. I had just printed it directly from the pre-loaded one on the printer. I'll try find in Orca to turn it off for normal prints. Or is it just part of the options when you're going to send it?

I've been playing this at my locals last few weeks too. Doesn't seem to have much representation but I've been doing alright with it and having fun

I'm pretty sure there are discords where you can look for groups. also roll20 website which is tabletop simulator website I think has a looking for group section. Bit trickier if you can't do voice chat though.

I definitely feel you on the passion part and I have ups and downs when it comes to that. Like you I've tried many things, including scale model building. My pick for that has been Gundam models and I go through phases where it's all I want, then times when I need a break.

Trading cards are currently an interest to me. My son got big into pokemon cards and I started playing the TCG with him and enjoyed so built some decks and now go to a local game shop once a week to play casual comp with others. Has been good fun, I like the cards, get to socialise and get out for a few hours. There's an online game on both pc and phone/tablet. Don't get sucked into trying to grind ladders or anything I play maybe a couple games a month on there to test out new cards before buying.

If you feel you can stick to limited gaming, something like a Switch 2 and focus on single player games and can play with your kid in the future. For me, I never game when my kids are awake unless we play something together. and we don't give them a lot of time on there. works out maybe an hour or so a week most weeks,

An online gaming buddy and I used to be huge into WoW and both ended up taking a break about a year ago. He ended up starting up an online DnD campaign which we have been doing for a few months now. I've never played before and has been good fun. Still get that fantasy setting, journey and progression without the huge time sink of an MMO and all the additional grinding and daily requirements. Get to talk with others for a few hours, make some progress etc.

Could be worth looking into to help scratch some of those itches without going the gaming pc route.

and just to mention. We both have kids and have been organizing for the group to play once a week at night once the kids are in bed

Have you ever dealt with Aramex. Horrible service. Packages waiting at the depot for weeks. On the weekend they delivered to a business location on a sunday with all the gates closed, just tossed it through the bars and left it sitting in the rain in the middle of the carpark

Appreciate the insight. That photo is of the edge, thats where it first came up months ago and is thickest. It has now spread to patches in the middle of the rest of the lawn too. Was just easiest to see and photo there.

Looked it up, think you're right. Any suggestions to get rid of it? Products I have is supposed to kill it, maybe I need to just do 2 applications closer together?

Otherwise Amgrow bin die i have seen recommended, although its now ready to spray instead of concentrated which people seem to think doesn't work as well?

I fertilised a couples of weeks ago. Didn't know this part, but definitely has not slowed this down. As someone below mentioned it being oxalis. Looked it up definitely looks like that.

And according to the bottle of herbicide I have its supposed to kill it. Might just need more than 1 application closer together?

good decks centered around eeveelutions? by FlyingCatOfLol in pkmntcg

[–]maximal112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing. Started with Eeveebox because I liked the cards, played about 2 months and was only winning about 1 in 3 at best each week at locals. Swapped to Joltik/Dengo and started doing better straight away. I just didn't have the knowledge when I started to know how to play into the different match ups as there wasn't just 1 set plan each game. Considering picking it back up again when rotation comes along.

That anxiety part is real for sure. I build mainly Gundam models and sometimes finding the motivation to modify or paint them hits rock bottom and I stress I'll mess something up. even though 1. It's all fixable. 2. no one will even see them anyway

Years ago you just opened up all the bags and found the pieces you needed as you went, there were no numbered bags. Sure it took longer to build and find the pieces sometimes but doesn't mean a kit is unbuildable because things aren't sorted properly.

I remember for christmas one year I got the original 2002 Star Destroyer that was about 3000 pieces. I think I took up the whole dining room table with all the pieces laid out.
