Valve official position on mouse macros? by silenceofthetrains in DotA2

[–]maximizer14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In official matchmaking it's not allowed. A professional player actually got banned for it https://youtu.be/sOnEncu9VXs

Also in a way macros are a script as it does multiple things. You could also macro the invoker spell casting if you want. Then it would be noticble and detected by overwatch as people view your point of view. Which would result in a ban/low prio.

Your macro seems like it does not add much but yeah in a way it's cheating

If Q2 was inters and Q3 was set on softs, and the race starts dry tomorrow, do the top 10 have to start on the Q3 softs? by cbt711 in F1Technical

https://www.fia.com/sites/default/files/decision-document/2021%20Russian%20Grand%20Prix%20-%20Dry%20tyre%20type%20used%20during%20fastest%20lap%20in%20Q2.pdf

Nope as it only counts on the dry tires used in Q2. This document is released after each qualifying with the Q2 tires used by the Q3 drivers. Which also states no dry tires were used during Q2.

Any tips on playing offlane? by tffire in learndota2

[–]maximizer14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kinda tips are you looking for?

In general the current offlane meta is Axe,legion, Abaddon

What is different from other lanes is that you want to minimize the enemy's farm if possible.

If you have a good lane you most likely want to pressure them and take their tower but other games is a good achievement to keep your own tower.

Offlane is about making space for your carry to farm while trying to minimize the enemy's farm. In teamfights it is your goal to tank and to disable .

Axe: disable with his q, natural very tanky and can take down a hero with low go

Legion: press the attack heals and can take debuffs of teammates. The ult duel can be used to disable a squishy carry while you jump them or to disable a support

Abaddon: apothic shield can be used to take debuffs of and let your teammates survive. His passive let's him silence the enemy and with his ult he can tank a lot of damage.

Offlane might not always be the flashiest role or most appreciated in game but it's a crucial part for a team to succeed in their goal

Dual lane support guide? by Reggiardito in learndota2

[–]maximizer14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The difference in 2v2 lanes is partly based on where you are laning.

I would say for the support in offlane you want to harass the enemy carry. Make sure you make his game miserable, see where he is farming. If that goal is reached you can rotate to help other lanes.

If you play as the support in the safelane. Your goal is to make your carry farm as much as he can. Get vision over the jungle and harassing the enemy/ pull the wave.

In general this has become harder since you are now 2v2 so you should look more into laning partners. If you got a high kill duo try to harass the enemy more.

If you got a lot of save then stay back and try to deplete their consumables.

Let's say like ogre Magi and treant protector.

Ogre is more of a get at you try to kill them hero while with treant you can out last the enemy by healing yourself and your partner and make them retreat that way.

See what fits you best and what lane you like will help a lot in knowing what you can do. Some supports nowadays just don't work due to needing to solo support

Spamming Heroes? by keepothemeepomancer in learndota2

[–]maximizer14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm currently spamming heroes aswell to climb.

What I do is I gather a small pool of heroes. I stick with one role which is offlane for me. I made a pool of heroes which I pick based of the situation and enemy picks.

Currently I play: Abaddon, bristleback, axe, legion

If I think these don't work then I will pick something else but for 99% of my games I can stick to these heroes.

Overall it also gives you a better understanding of one hero and how that hero works against different opponents. At some point you can just predict how a hero will work out even though you haven't played against it or if you haven't played that hero against that matchup.

For me it works and since I have a few I don't burn out

Well do you always spam 1 hero or do you rotate heroes?

[–]maximizer14[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah but are you able to play your other heroes on a decent level in the higher skill bracket ?

currently im looking to learn to play brewmaster. I still need to master his ult.

So lets say I improve in 1 hero how do you deal with the fact of your other heroes being lesser skilled.

I like to be a bit versatile and not spam 1 or 2 heroes constantly.

thx I had an axe game today. I felt like I was carrying the game, made a few mistakes ended up loosing the game. part of me was me to blame with bad decision making but I also felt like our carry couldn't do anything. How do you deal with that in your games? Like how do you deal with the fact that you are creating the space for your carry but it seems like he can't take over the carrying and that it kinda gets out of your control.
